how many of you look at the "colorized" ASEs and laugh?

Do any of you seek them out...at same as bu coins???

Honestly, I've had 2 of them and gave them both away.

For what it's worth, IMO. it makes liberty look like a clown.....

This is post 600 for me and I'm just getting primed up...it took 9 months to get here...so not really a post monger...yet

Colorized ASE's are a joke. The only thing I like about an ASE, other than a regular ole' Proof or Uncirculated are those Reverse Proofs. Everything else is basically a joke.
It is just like the colorized State Quarters, or the Gold Plated anything. A way for the Franklin Mint, or HSN to make money.[IMG]

  4. I am not a fan of artificially colorized coins, but i would not turn down a colorized ASE at spot. ;) TC

A silver eagle is a silver eagle is a silver eagle no matter how much paint is put on it.

What really matters is how much of a premium that a person pays for a "colored" silver eagle.

EDIT: Actually I like certain painted bullion silver art bars but I do not want to pay an extra premium for that paint. Painted silver eagles look fine to me IMO but since I do not buy silver eagles, it is not a big deal to me.

I have one colorized ASE. I don't like them because of my expectation that someday the US Mint will discontinue the ASE series, and the existing coins will begin to accrue at least some numismatic premium because the demand will continue but the supply will be fixed. However, the colorized coins will always be damaged and will never be worth more than bullion - not that this is a bad thing.
