OK...Krispy...let's say (just for the sake of discussion) that you and Elaine were an "item" and you were going to propose marriage.

You would need a pretty substantial engagement ring to "seal the deal"...and I doubt $20/oz silver is gonna get the job done!

What design (content) would you use to build a ring that would make Elaine weak in the knees? :D ...be creative (rhodium comes to mind).

Nah, rhodium is rather dull and easily confused with other metals. I've actually no idea where to begin not knowing of her preference for jewelry and gem stones. I'd have to make an estimated guess to go with gold and diamonds, but maybe a diamond with some character, color even. Who knows, a ring is pretty small compared to a vault full of PMs but I may also need to throw a spear at her front door to claim her first... as is something traditional in Filipino custom. Where to begin, maybe a silver tipped spear with a diamond encrusted shaft. LOL!

What part of this don't you understand?
Quote: "Unless you are a day trader"... In case you can't quite grasp the concept I am saying that those who monitor pricing daily or even minute by minute or are day traders do so because they want to. They have the time, interest and motivation to sit there and keep track of the ups and downs.
You have taken my quote out of context as it obviously was not intended for you or your type. And if anyone is castigating it is krispy himself.
Let's review the history here. A post was made saying that the fluctuations were driving the OP crazy. I merely suggested that the average person doesn't have to monitor the dips and peaks daily as a day trader does.
If you need any more help let me know.
Secondly, again it is simply none of your business what kind of deals I get at coin shows, period.

I do not know if this will help any but usually a diamond is a woman's best friend but in Elaine's case, I think that gold is Elaine's best friend.

the markets with it's tail between it's legs over housing reports and fear of tomorrow's jobs report before a long holiday weekend scurrying for shelter has spooked even the metals this morning. This is a bargain if you're a buyer or investor. Let's see if everything roars back to life after the summer chill out.
