Hunt, You will probably take this as criticism (and perhaps it is) but the fact of the matter is I provided that information before you did. Are you trying to steal my thunder? Let's look at the sequence of replies on the thread about the 1857 Gold Dollar. 1857 Dollar Coin I was the first to point out the coin was fake and I provided reasons to support my claim: You came a little late to the game and essentially repeated what I had already said: Let's give credit where credit is due and let's not rush to claim credit that is not due. You will earn more respect from others that way.
I was quoting from Post #35 on this thread where the poster was claiming credit for something on another thread. Sorry for the confusion.
I bought from them once without any problems. Just wish their shipping prices were lower as well as no extra charge for credit cards. But overall I trust them. Why still so many negatives? I've only heard one person so far say why..
Because there is a crowd of people here that think any kind of profit is unfair and a rip-off. All shipping should be free, and there should never be any extra fees if something costs a business more money to use. Add in the reality that they don't have to defend their position, and you have these results. I think many of them believe profit is a 4 letter word. I don't find it difficult to count to 5....
DLRC bought PCI at a time when PCI had more than its share of problems and lost all its credibility. Despite the fact that DLRC is a very reputable company, there is still the stigma associated with the old PCI holder that DGS continues to use. Chris
Sorry! I thought I was in the men's room. I should have realized it when I didn't see any urinals. Chris
I may have misunderstood what you were posting about, so again, is what you posted about APMEX? If not, it's not a big deal, if it is, maybe you could clarify.
I thought I had been responding to a thread about DGS, the grading service of DLRC. I noticed an odd "stutter" (for lack of a better word) when I was about to submit my post. Don't ask me how it ended up in this thread. Chris
They have the best website IMO. They have some of the best spreads. They are apparently closing out not just some of the numismatic coins but also older silver bars like Engelhard. Quality control is very important to them, so they are probably trying to minimize areas where they may get complaints. BTW my tax preparer this year was from Oklahoma City. I wish this city the best in economic success this year and every year.
By the way, APMEX is on my short-list of trusted dealers. Have done many thousands of dollars of business with them since 2003ish.
