I was watching my local classified adds and I saw an ad for silver maple leafs. I'm happy right now, I just bought 100 ounces for $1800. I don't know the dates yet, are their any good dates for maple leafs?

Don't get careless about letting local folks know that you collect silver. Privacy and security should be at the top of your list.

Shockingly Good price. I wonder if your shipment will actually arrive? I hope so. I purchased some coins from a well known coin company early Nov. 2009. Come January, still no coins. Come Feb., only a partial shipment. There were only complaints with this order that I will not go into. I hope your order turns into a happy ending.

Ditto on the security part too. We live in a small town. I use the local and only vault in town. It is hard not to be noticed in there. I keep my coins there mostly because I trust the bank staff.

If I ever inadvertently left a coin in the private room, I feel pretty confident that they would check with me about it and not just pocket the coin. Even the Janitor has a very good reputation.

Very good deal...well done...18 bucks each.
Instead of asking about key dates which for the most part the prices are pretty solid and comparitable, look for some that have privy marks on them..now some of those can demand a premium.

I just got them all. They are all 2009 maple leafs. I was surprised when I opened the rolls by how many had tone or milk spots on them. I thought it was just a US Mint issue. I am some what bummed. He had just sold a 2008 1/4 ounce eagle for $300. I told him I would have given him more but oh well I have my maple leafs.

Really nice pick up / price you got! Congrats. I've found Maples have the milk spots as well, they seem bigger / more pronounced in my experience where ASEs seem like tiny dots sprayed or splashed and sometimes only noticed under magnification. It's a bit surprizing to see on the Maples also because they are finer silver .9999 than are ASEs.

These coins are probably 1 1/2 old and where still sealed in the tubes from the mint. All four where in the box that he ordered them in, so I have to think they were sent from the mint that way. It must be a similar issue to that of the ASE's with the washing of the planchet.

You can't expect to receive MS69-70 coins at a discounted price.

It will be a good deal once again whatever happens next week, if you hang onto it.
