if silver hit $20.00. gold must have to hit $1,200.00/oz. krispy. you still have a 50% change to win. either i hug you or you hug me. o.k. i have to go to bed early tonight. bye dear.
 Hugs and early to bed... :mouth: I didn't even know this was a competition... My posts caution exuberance too soon in anticipation of rising PM prices, which will eventually be attained, in due course... no cheer leading necessary. Certainly, I'd like to see PMs go up to help those invested do well, but I'd also like to see stability for simpler decisions on when to buy and what to pay. Also, your Silver to $20 thread has been in the making for quite a number of months [9/7/2009], just as this thread for gold to $1350 was started a mighty long time ago [9/11/2009] with a lot of abundant speculation to a swift upswing in gold price that still hasn't arrived nor brought us to a new base... Currently: GOLD @ $1,152.30/oz. High $1152.70 Silver @ $18.05/oz. High $18.07 Platinum @ $1,711/oz. Palladium @ $505/oz.
well. you can change a new thread of your own today. and lowering the price of gold and silver. anyway. very soon i will not write anymore. cause i am too busy. good night baby. o.k. i give you a nice hug in advance.
One thread is enough until we see your $1,350 thank you. Have a good night. Currently: GOLD @ $1,149.70/oz. High $1153 Silver @ $17.94/oz. High $18.07 Platinum @ $1,707/oz. Palladium @ $505/oz.
Seems he took the long term cruise. I hope he's okay out there. I recall he went through a big surgery last summer then came back to CT for a bit, but has been pretty silent now for some time. Actually, you, Yankee and Morgan all disappeared around the same time a couple+ months back... two of the three have so far returned coincidentally with a rather good week for gold...
lol, any reports of rogue waves? I assume cloudsweeper is still around....? I was hoping by now gold would be $1200+, we could all be sharing cruise stories...but to no avail... But patience is virtue and investing into PM's is neither an overnight success or a guarantee of well anything....
Yes, he's out there... but there has not been much commentary for Cloud to chase down and correct in this and the silver thread for a little while so it's been pretty quite.
Wow! So it wasn't just me after all, there must have been some kind of sub-conscious consensus around here to step off the gas pedal... Good thing you and Elaine are holding up the fort....
Yeah that would be a pretty damn good incentive!! Not a bad idea....are the mods listening? How about programming work? I can build that module you've been asking for....
Not a wee-bit. Would be sweet to get a blogging job in coin/bullion topics but them day's seem like distant dreams.
Some people are paid to twitter...it's really sad how some celebrities known for just being famous can get paid LOADS of cash just for tweeting utter nonsense....
I hear ya... and here there's not enough high profile celebs in numismatics and online bullion discussion to warrant much of an incentive/salary so I guess we'll have to do with out and do it ourselves as volunteers. :thumb: Looks like PM prices are pretty flat today, no big moves since the morning numbers. BTW, not too long ago I picked up a 2010 5 oz. Silver Proof Libertad, my first coin over 1 oz. in content I've ever owned, and it's really a beauty. Apmex gets them in now and then but you have to move pretty fast to get them even though the price is firm. They sold a stock of less than 50 proof pieces in just a few days time. Then last night around 9pm I got an Alert from Apmex that the 2010 5 oz. unc. Libertads had become available, they had just about 3 pieces when I looked at the available stock, like $125 and change each, they were all gone by 8 am this morning. The premium on Libertads is a bit steep but I wanted to get these for my collection and of course would like to see an improvement on the investment side too. They usually do pretty well over time if you look as some of the early dates. There's a thread here on CT about Libertads if you look it up in the coin section: 2010 Libertads.
I had a gut feeling things might plateau right about now. Gold seems to stuck once it hits around the $1150-60 range.... I barely remember the days when it was $1218+..... So you're saying all of your silver has always been 1 oz? I've been hearing libertads spoken around here, what exactly are they? I have some 10 oz APMEX bars that I purchased awhile back around Xmas time....but I won't go higher than 10 oz.... You know APMEX moved their office right?
In coin form I have only ever owned 1 oz silver. But I have owned larger bars in the past. Several years back when silver was doing well, I traded nearly all of my silver bullion coins, bars, art bars whatever I had for gold to reduce the amount of storage. The SDBs were getting crowded. I also started selling off all my modern silver commems from the US Mint, got rid of all the mint and proof sets, any thing clad metal went too and I reinvested all of the money in gold coin. Really, it was a good time for PMs but honestly I always loved silver and desired to own gold, it was the storage issue of silver that pushed me over the edge. Since then I buy when I can little by little, still love ASEs, Phils, Maples in silver but also focus more on fractional gold. Check the link I posted above about Mexican Libertads, they are Mexicos silver bullion coins (and collectibles) Most bullion dealers sell them, but they usually carry a larger premium than ASEs and other well known govt. issued bullion coins. The design of the Angel of Independence are equally attractive to the ASE design to me. Apmex always has Libertads listed in the silver and gold section, either metal you prefer. Yes, Apmex moved their trading office to OKC from Edmond. I wish they'd open a bullion kiosk here in Manhattan so I could buy in person and save on shipping.
Currently: GOLD @ $1,152.oz. High $1154.90 Silver @ $18.11/oz. High $18.15 Platinum @ $1,715/oz. Palladium @ $507/oz.
@Krispy, You sure make catching up on threads extra special. I like your perspective on Elaine. It was flattering and a fun read.
