APMEX buys back although at a premium. Are there any other seller who does that up front. I'm afraid if I wanted or needed to liquidate for what ever reason, I could sell off some or part there off!! At the very least I'm knowing My down side. Thank You and every one>
Well, yes, you will find those who are out to only make money themselves, but believe me, there are people out there that are in business to help others. Buying bullion is good, but I hate to see you tie up a lot of your money into that IF that is all you are going to be getting for awhile. Are you able to go back to work? Are you planing on going back to work? If you are, are you going to be able to live on less than you will make at that job? If you are, then invest in anything you want, and let it sit. Most invester adviser I talk with suggest leaving any investment for at least 10 years...but at the same time, you should keep a watch on how it is going, so you can sell, and buy at the right time. If you are not going to be able to work again, and this is all you are going to have to live on, then I still have to go back to the fact that bullion does NOT grow fast enough to make this a good move. Heck, even key date coins don't grow that much. I have a 1909-S VDB that I bought several years ago - if I sold it back to the dealer I might make a slight proffit....maybe. I guess what this all comes down to is this - you have to feel safe with your investment, but your investment also has to be after much research. If this is "extra" money that you can stand to lose, then put it in anything you want. If this is money that you have to have to live, then do extra research, and invest in your learning. Speedy
Unfortunatly my fall Costa Rica caused a subdural hematoma. I'm was in a hospial, intensive care for over 3 months. Partially paraliezed and took 4 months to be moved and rent a air ambulance to return to the US, Six years later I can walk but memory is mush. I'm writing a book to help families deal with what I've been through.'COMA WAKE-UP CALLS, A STROKE OF LUCK' I was blessed having a wife who drove daily from Jaco Beach to Punta Rainus and preventing my then seperated wife from giving permission to pull my plug and collect my $200k life insurance. I am so lucky to God and all my friend both new and old. Beside lacking all short term memmory and spelling. I thank God and those of you who show patience and understanding. And to You and some others, I am forever grateful.
ok - then from what I'm seeing you going to be very limited in be able to work, if at all. If this is your only source of income for the rest of your life, and you aren't going to be able to pull in any other kind of disability income, then I really can't suggest going with bullion as a good investment. When I started collecting silver was around $4/ounce. Now I don't think it will go back to that anytime soon, but lets do some math. At 240,000.00 you could have gotten 60,000 ounes of silver that would now be worth something like $1,020,000.00. Now that would be good, but what if silver goes down from what it is now, to what it was then....just a few years ago. You would have around 14,117 ounces of silver - and if silver went back down, you would have alittle over $50,000.00. Not what I would suggest to someone in your shoes. Now I will be the first to agree - it could go up and leave you in a very good place....but are you willing to take the chance? Speedy
You correct in many ways, but medals are a tangible asset unlike stock which most of us got out butt kick somewhere in our past. I will take some time and ask around. There has to be others faced with similar circumstances, I thank and respect your opinion.
The vulture must smell blood. Monex has introduced itself. Any advice as to them or simular concerns, Ps Law was less confusing!~! PS Why do most start with "M" as does Money!!
First off - if you are getting spammed with PM's here on CT then you need to report them to the Moderators by clicking on the little red triangle on each PM. Speedy
Speedy I'm sorry I have no idea of the charges yoo are speaking of. Before I scream I want to be sure what I'm talking about.. Thabnk You!
Well you had just posted this: and so that sounded like someone was spamming you to buy their product. If that is the case, and they did so here on CoinTalk, then you need to report it to the Moderators as that is now allowed. If you are asking about a product named Monex, then I have no idea about it. Speedy
I agree with Speedy. I don't think there is anything wrong with investing in silver or gold, as many of us here are doing just that. But I do think being diversified is also important. Have you looked into bonds, TIPs, stocks, mutual funds, money market, etc? As Speedy said, nothing guarantee that silver nor gold will go up substantially in the next 10 years. Nor does any of the other investment vehicles I mentioned, but having all of your eggs in one basket is rarely a good thing.
