Hey, my parents gifted me 2 gold bullion coins, a Buffalo and an Eagle each in plastic holders (Buffalo sealed, Eagle in a fold-pouch).

I guess I could get about $3,500 for them.....was wondering, if you could sell them or exchange them for a another (numismatic) coin like a Liberty or a Saint....what would you consider for about $3,500 ? Keep in mind I already have an 1923-D MS-66 and a couple of 1924's and 1927's.

Was thinking maybe a nice 1928 in 66 condition ?

Wow, nice gift! If it was me (*sideways glance at my avatar and username*), I would keep the Buffalo.

Think about an early date like the 1911D in MS65. That‘s one of the affordable pieces of the series and not so boring like another twenty‘s dates.

I've looked at the 11-D from time-to-time....saw a nice one at FUN 2020, almost pulled the trigger.

    Another Alternative:
A Phili Piece of the 1910 to 1915 dates in MS63. These are rare and interesting.

Dealing them to a pawn shop or LCS, you might get more bang for your buck
a itte extra never hurt :)

If it was me I would keep them as they were a gift from my parents. I’d save my money until I could afford to buy what you want to trade them for.

The 1904 is "the common" for Liberty's, right ? Which ones also are bullion plus a small premium in MS-65 ?

I would agree with CN, a gift from your parents, would be hard to put a price tag
on, so for sure something to think about.

The 1900 Phili is always in demand as better Bullion and an interesting round the Century coin.

just finished a slab box of MS70 moderns, now I thought I would move to $ 20 liberties, got my first coming in next week, am very interested in the time period
1875 - 1888 the cowboy years found som great examples in the AU50 - AU58
where you dont have to give up your first born...LOL, as with currency the AU grade
is way more desirable then allot MS grades 60/ 61 are usually pitted pretty bad and offer little eye appeal.

Ihave a 1915-S but it is in MS-63 bullion condition.

Got it at FUN 2020 and basically paid spot gold plus $30, which wasn't bad considering the 3% discount in gold quantity offset by the holder and the 63 grade. Figured what the hell, better than buying another boring modern gold piece. :D

    Shouldn't 1 Buffalo + 1 Eagle = 1 "Beagle"?
