    This one was actually part of a free gift from a family member, which IMO is the most special part. This is one of the cheaper European coppers you can get from the 1700s and the grade is nothing special but it's a very nice CircCam for a copper coin.

    I thought I posted this one an hour ago, but I do not see it. Must have done something wrong... 1900 O US 1 d.jpg

    @Cascade Nice example of what @lordmarcovan was describing for his "coined" term: 'CircCam'. I like the VarSlab Label and their attribution service (I have a high end 1904-O VAM 2 [O slanted Left] that NGC and PCGS don't recognize) and I would send to them but for the fact that Ian Russel at Great Collections removes the VarSlab Label and won't mention any VAM not on the original Slab Label in their Listings.

    I overpaid for this one just because I thought the circ-cam look was fantastic.

    Although I don't have any, as a technical grading collector, I really appreciate the beauty of many coins shown in this thread.

    Thank you for this revived posting!

    @imrich
    I find it hard to find these type of coins. When I do I buy, VF30 is a nice affordable collectors grade, then add the "CircCam look is a winner for me.

    I truly believe it's difficult to locate a beautiful moderately affordable specimen.

    In my opinion, the finding process is an ultimate thrill for a true collector.

    As an Octogenarian Collector of unique beautiful "Art" pieces, I believe the often decade long process has contributed to my longevity.

    I hope it also generates increased life appreciation and extension for those of special enthusiastic goals, as yours.

    Thanks for "sharing"!

    I'll post my own photos when it arrives, but I've been looking for a nice original example of this medal for quite a while. All I've seen disappointed one way or another. This one has it all.

    Circ-cam to boot.

    That's as perfect a CircCam SLQ as I've ever seen. You'll be looking a long time to find one better than that. John, aka @CircCam, used to have a Type 1 SLQ with the same look.

    Here’s a Roman As of the emperor Claudius, ca. 41-54 AD. CircCam patina!

    That is a very unusual counterstamp. Is there more story that goes with this coin?
