Your quick to dismiss mine ! I am from the from the show me state, I can remember when I was in high school and everybody in auto shop told me they had a 10 second car, low and behold most of them were lucky to make in to the 14 second range, my car which was a 1970 Challenger run a legitimate 12.20 at 111 super fast in those days, moral to the story don’t believe what anyone has to say unless they can back it up…LOL
You got to love when the person who talked the most edited about bullion from third party graders is now the expert on the topic and knows more than people who have been buying graded bullion for 20 years.
And that's where your issues lie. This isn't grade school. It's not a schoolyard where anyone has to prove their pops bigger than your pop. This is now the big boy world where nobody has to prove jack ____ to you. You haven't got any inkling about me or my finances. So cast no further aspersions about me, for you look the fool doing so.
We just want to talk about the staying power of the premium of the West Point label….There really is no precedent to make the claim it will hold the premium you payed. IMO it has less staying power than a First Strike label and I’m no fan of those either….Where are these collectors that love West Point labels..?…I know there are some that like mint marks on the actual coin, but even those collectors are very few.
All talk ! I have seen your kind many times before, talk about sour grapes...LOL you take the cake in that department sir, I have never seen a positive reply from you ever on any of my posts always negativity, so do you like following me around ? dont worry you need not worry about it any longer go spread your negativity else ware, Troll sweep engaged !
The same thing goes for the “emergency production” of silver eagles at the Philadelphia Mint. The only way to identify them was through the monster box they came in. Quite a deal for HSN and the other overpriced TV peddlers.
I don't know nothing and have little of nothing LEFT, but I learned in here "buy the coin not the holder" So now its changed some people do buy the holders. I do have a pet peeve wont buy any Silver with a 69 grade USUALLY . 70 or bust for me... more upside. I reckon!!
There are many ASE and other like this situation, also, if without such value. Don't know why the mint did/does this sort of thing. In the old days prior to 1968 or thereabouts, all coins without mm were from Philly...all others had mm...should have remained that way, or all coin's mm including a P for Philly displayed on all coins...none of this inconsistent/confusing mystery stuff.
The holder in this case makes the coin more valuable as the population is far less at West Point then the same coin minted at several locations as there is no distinction in most other holders, the point I am trying to make.
Where are these collectors that pay more..?…You would think there would be a bunch here if the coin had any long term collectibility….Go back and read all your own post about third party graders, there was some truth in those post.
For the uneducated and the people that just don’t know, I spoke with APMEX and they gave me the skinny on what everything means when it comes to the W also that was confirmed with a quick call to PCGS the W after the year means it’s a proof or burnished coin a (W) like this simply means it was struck at West Point ( so no mint mark ) on the coin. Here are some examples:
Yeah, I'm the same but different with gold, I won't buy a 70 cause the price difference isn't worth it to me, I'm more likely to go with the 69. Besides that I seldom by graded coins or modern anyways.
This is great, the person who told us we were all stupid for buying graded bullion last year is now an expert collector of graded bullion and knows more than people who have been collecting graded coins and bullion for 20+ years.
Kind of in the opposite end of the spectrum currently buying only moderns and in 70 proofs and burnished, will always seek out the highest grade had an opportunity to buy a 69 palladium eagle but passed and waited for a perfect example, everybody has there own style
They do it to try and hide the source of it so they're "all the same". The problem is that with the (P) ones they got discovered because they did have a slightly different look that lead people into looking into it further which the mint did as little as possible with the requests. The mint even went out of the way to try and destroy the after market premium. Every ASE box should just have a strap on it from where it's from like the West Point and SF do. Everyone would have understood that they had to make them in a new place for some overflow, or you could buy the theory and believe it was a long term marketing plan to sell more later with people hoping for a P box. The mint isnt actually as stupid as they're made out to be from collector complaining, I'd bet some people wanted them hidden and the ones with the marketing plan just let them take the lead doing so
