    Depending on your financial situation
I think GOLD far out weighs any other
PM,s just more chance of growth, your
not going to get rich with Silver, but again what ever you can afford.

Heard that allot on here not going to get Rich you won't even break even. You might even lose money on Silver. I think Food, alcohol, tobacco ect.. will become money Massive bartering will occur.. best 90% Silver and its fractional for ez trading .. a silver dime is worth far more than 10 cents.

I just went over to my LCS, he had zero gold coins! Second time that happened to me in the last couple of months. He has plenty silver and coins, just no gold. :( Mostly I only use Ebay for coins that are htf anywhere else but it's been quite awhile since I've gotten a good deal with them. US gold on ebay is high retail, no fun paying them prices at all! Time for me to find a new dealer, maybe Stacks Bowers!

Last time I stopped by my go-to pawnshop (a week or two ago), they had more than a dozen gold coins on display, mostly Krugerrands. I'm assuming they're sitting there because of the pricing (I didn't ask, I'm not interested in Krugerrands). Their gold isn't quite as bad as their common silver (buy at half to 3/4 of melt, sell around 1.5x melt), but the spread is still pretty wide.

Not interested in Krugerrands ? price points are way better then US GOLD just
about everywhere, GOLD is GOLD and Kruger's are one of those coins that stack up really well when it comes to resale, my LCS reminds me of this all the time :)

Yeah, let me be a little more detailed:

I'm not interested in them from a numismatic point of view. I'm almost exclusively a US collector.

The pawn shop wants ridiculous premiums. If I wanted them to stack, I'd buy from one of the places you've mentioned online.

I'm not confident authenticating KR's beyond weight-and-dimensions, and I don't trust the pawn shop to do it for me. I've caught them selling off-metal fakes of silver coins before. I know tungsten-cored gold fakes exist. I'm (perhaps inappropriately) confident of my ability to catch such fakes of US coins. KR's? I don't know if I'd spot a fake, and I don't know if they'd spot a fake, so, no sale.

Always by from a reputable source thats for sure ! my LCS does me a solid on the
B/U Krugers, doesn't charge any additional premium for various years even ones
with limited production, anything 2011 - 2020 are almost mythical ! they stopped
keeping records on production sometime ago but Krugers were produced in big numbers between 75 - 82 and most of the time that's what you will find.
