That's right, best deals ever on gold coins, where have you gotten the best deals? Let me try a poll here, not sure how to do a poll, I'll guess. :) My best deals have come from my LCS, I've never bought from Heritage or any other auction house but I'm looking into it right now! I have bought off ebay but no real savings there at all and sometimes I paid full retail for a gold coin I really wanted. So what's been your experiences?

LCS for me too. I've bought some on Ebay that were decent deals.
But every time I've ever bought from my LCS, I just paid what he asked, then looked the coin(s) up online when I got home. And every time I was pleased to see that the price I had paid was significantly cheaper than I could find anywhere on the internet.

On eBay, and very rarely at local pawn shops. But I'm pretty sure I've never bought gold coins anywhere else. I'm a cheapskate, and buy gold only when it's significantly underpriced, for the most part.

(Okay, I've bought some gold direct from the Mint. I don't expect I'll ever turn an inflation-adjusted profit on it, but it was stuff I wanted for the sake of having it.)

I remember looking through some pre-1933 gold at the local pawnshop, and finding one half-eagle that was priced the same as the $10 eagles, with a tag indicating it was an eagle with a different date. I and the shop worker were both really sad, because we were both pretty sure that someone else had gotten a $10 eagle priced as a half-eagle, which would have put it well below melt...

I’ve done well at many LCS over the years but the best I’ve every done was an online only auction.

Though these aren’t GOLD coins, they
we’re all purchased thru liberty, if you
buy PM,S on eBay there one of the first
that comes up in the category based on
    price.
