I refuse to eat grilled cheese sandwiches or even any thing that's predominantly cheese. It is what it is. And I still drink water from the sink.
Recall the introduction of the Big Mac for 49c...circa 1965...and ads for "change back from your dollar" for a Big Mac, fries and drink. Regular hamburgers were 15c, cheeseburgers 20c, fries 15c and a drink 15. Went to Bob's in early 60s and a shrimp dinner was $1.75...five big shrimp, fries and a salad...sometimes would have their "Big Boy" combo...a "double-decker" burger (before McDs Big Mac) with fries and salad for $1.15.
Indeed...watched his quiz show as a boy in the 50s and loved the duck that would come down on a string with the "secret word"...and his straight-man sidekick/announcer, George Fenaman.
I read The Road but haven't seen the movie. If you can imagine a mother and family roasting her newborn baby on a stick, then you'll have an idea of just how depressing/disturbing the book was. Did they have that scene in the movie?
