Buying on the dips, normally that's the way it's done but I'm not a silver person at all, so I'll wait a bit longer! That said, it was amazing to finally see the premiums drop on feebay for sure.
Yep, slow and easy! I'm hoping the spot price on silver doesn't go below $20 cause if it goes lower, then I'll feel gold will fall down as well and if it does, I'll roll with the punches but I won't be happy about it! One good thing about gold is crypto has been taking a beating the last few weeks so in that respect, gold has been a solid investment, jmho!
I would like to say yes, but honestly it takes up to much space and is very heavy. my safe shelving is starting to bow an thinking of dumping all me generic 10 OZ bars, but will still probably keep my boutique stock.
I do not sweat the ups and downs of markets and will not until I get close to retirement and I like working so that is another ten years off with luck. With that said, I have cashed o“ut stock investments in the past for real estate but will always hold onto my Gold. Silver is interesting if it continues to drop for I’m looking now to what I can leave for my kids. Basically I’m small time average American investor but I did very well being diversified over decades with my disposable income which includes spending money on enjoying life. That would be my recommendation as well as use the tax codes temporarily changes when they become an advantage for you to use.
When I think of silver, I think of Nevada. Ever visit any of those old silver mines in Nevada? Are any still active or open for tourism?
Many of the silver mines have been closed down for years, at only $20 an once there just isn’t enough money to be maid, now if we’re talking about gold that’s a different story. As far as visiting any mines locally allot of those are on private land so not really accessible unfortunately.
Sorry to hear about mines being inaccessible. Would love a mine tour and then a silver store attached from bars to coins to jewelry myself. Set up like the Wine Vineyard formats but instead of leaving light headed, one can leave with some weight.
In any case. Nevada must be a cool spot to live and the dry spots of Lake Mead might be a good spot for metal detectors right now.
Yeah us pretty bad, the lake keeps dropping ! but no one wants to do anything about it, two bodies were found recently one was stuffed in to a barrel and had a gun shot to the head they established a time of death some time in the mid to late 70,s , remember Las Vegas was started by the mob so this won’t be the last body found not by a long shot, the other one was basically just bones so they have to put everything back together to make that determination.
That seems a little puzzling. Here's the inflation-adjusted price of silver over the last hundred years or so: The price hasn't been this high for very much of that time. On the other hand, for any given mine, I guess it gets harder to get silver out over time (you'd naturally get the easiest and richest deposits first). So I'd expect mines to shut down as they play out, only reopening if the price of silver gets so high that they're worth the trouble again. Is that what you're thinking?
I would be buying if I could find any at near spot, however premiums are just too high. Currently the lowest priced Silver Eagle on eBay buy it now is $37. That's $16 over spot. No thanks.
You can get better deals at your LCS when you shop on fee bay, sellers have to raise there prices to cover there overhead to sell on the bay.
I know that however not everyone has a LCS. Even with fee bay, after paying sellers fees people are making 50% (or more) over spot.
Fees are stupidly high, I sell there myself when you start getting up there the percentages and fees add up quickly !
Keep in mind,. The seller has to have a buyer. This lot had two bidders, well over spot because sometimes people just want what you have to sell. IN MY DEFENSE I was channeling mpcusa This seller listed these I think four times, with no bids. I offered $25... seller said thanks but I don't need the money, I'll wait. Well someone else was interested in them and bid, I found some money in my virtual wallet and decided to throw a few bucks on them. I've never held any in hand and they are rarely seen listed for sale. They should be a cool addition to the scrooge McDuck pile at 4.5x spot .
