The question I would have is who do you
sell it to ? I know for a fact my LCS doesn’t sell or buy it as I would think
that would be the norm, would probably
have to go thru a specialty shop, which
means if they don’t give you a good price
you have no options, at-least with GOLD
    there are many.

Most of platinum's superpowers are chemical in nature -- low bulk reactivity, fancy catalytic properties -- and the vacuum of space is pretty much chemical-free. :) And if we do find lots of compelling space-based uses, we'll probably want to mine it from asteroids anyhow, where it's more plentiful (and already lifted out of Earth's gravity well). Once that becomes big business... well, the economy will be a lot larger, and shaped a lot differently. I'd love to live to see it, but don't expect to.

Not that I have that kind of money to put into PM, but rhodium can be both bought and sold through Kitco in both bars and "sponge." There is a huge upside potential still out there. Almost all of it comes from South Africa and Russia. Sanctions on Russia, if they continue long enough, will definitely drive the price up.

Food and water first, peace love and happiness second, survival mentality is a given. Everything else may, can, and will be taken by our own unforgiving government officials in time of distress. History repeats itself, "What goes around comes around."

You're bound to make a nice profit, may take 5 years or more but the potential is definitely there!

Thats my hope! If I was 95 years old I would never buy platinum because I wouldn’t know if it will go up soon.

But I’m about 80% confident that I will be able to make a decent profit if I hold it for 30 years. At some point in the next 30 years I think platinum will be equal to gold even if it’s only briefly.

What’s interesting is that they are listed as having the same 32.7mm diameter as a 1oz American Gold Eagle but they are a little bit bigger. I had to do some adjusting to fit it in the capsule. With the AGEs they just drop right into the capsule.

I know platinum is denser than gold so it must have a thinner planchet.

Thanks! Next up an oz of Palladium!!

Joking xD. Next up is another Roman denarius. Preferably Titus or Nerva but Tiberius would be great too.

After looking at these coins I have to say..

If I was going just by eyesight I couldn’t tell the difference between platinum and silver.

I put an APE next to an ASE and the metals look identical.

It’s only when you weigh them and notice that the platinum is much heavier that you can determine which is which.

I wonder why it has a $100 face value yet the AGE is only $50 despite gold being worth more. o_O

When the legislation to mint the coins was drawn up, the prices were different. That's also why the palladium eagle has a $25 face value.

My only platinum is this 1 oz that my now deceased brother purchased, new
I sometimes use it as my avatar here on CT. Watched it go up and down in USD value, didn’t much matter. I’m into it for $0
Probably have it when they close the cover on me 362995AF-3B11-457D-A0F7-CD2E3C4A5C3D.jpeg 609F8A1F-45F6-48FE-A5BF-00D8BDCAEB42.jpeg

Ive always thought of getting in to Roman coins however not as tangible as
Bullion, I know there are some silver coins in that arena but they would
probably be on the smaller side, after all something is only worth what someone
is going to give you for it.
