I would like to buy some phils or leafs (just cause) i want 1 tube where can i find the best deal? or should i just stick with ASE?
The best price I've seen lately is kitco.com, but haven't bought from them before. Price wise, they are the best with Northwest Territorial Mint next in line.
they are all quite fine. working on finding the best price perhaps ought outweigh which design you choose.
Provident Metals is worth checking out.. lowest prices, and best service I have seen... beat the pants of NWT mint & Ampex... ect.
The best deal is to buy the phils instead of the leafs. Casual research will tell you that Phils come in rolls of 20 while leafs come in rolls of 25. Buy the Phils from APMEX and enjoy your shiny new coins. Eventually, I'd recommend a roll of libertads ..the older design from the 80's is freaking cool and I love the edge writing.
No offense Hudson.. but ampex is charging $20.51 per coin... Provident is charging $19.56 for the same coin (Austrian Phil 2010)... and provident's S&H is cheaper. Last time I tried to pick up 15-20 coins at Ampex, they wanted $19.95 for shipping. Ug.

Not to be a complete idiot.. but how do you buy on that site? Seems a bit complicated... Prices are a bit cheaper, but there's not much of a discription on what you are actually getting... i.e. grade of coins (uncir.. BU?), maker of bars? ect.. How's the shipping from them?
Nevermind.. I read up a bit more on them. Neat idea, and if I was dealing in large quantities, it would be a good deal. But a bit complicated for my taste. S&H is a bit high too... no offense intended!! $9.95 plus (depending on order), then add in another $5.95 handling plus 4%.. and that can add up quick. My last coin order from provident was $13.95 s&h... Had I bought thru BD, I would have saved 3 cents a coin ($.75 on that order of 25 coins..), but the s&h would have been $9.95, plus $5.95 plus $16 (4% of a $400 order).. a whopping $31.90 Granted, you dont pay the 4% if you wire or check pay... but thats still $15.90.. more than the savings on the coin prices. Not to be argumentative!! Just posting my reasoning for still going to provident. In all fairness, I should mention that provident does hit you for 2.3% if using online payment (PP, credit card)
No offense taken. I just put it out there, because I wanted to know what other people thought of that place. I've never done business with them, but I do like the idea that you can check the ask and bid prices of various PMs and minted coins. It helps me get an idea of when trading is hot and when it is not.
