Yeah, those sure get us from point A to point B. $2.25 increase/ double what fuel costs were a little over a year ago. why's everybody crying right. Just suck it up buttercup. I mean sure Oil and gas are just bad, there not the life blood of the worlds economy. (sarcastic)
Let's just artificially reduce the worlds supply of resources, what a brilliant idea.
I want to see these geothermal and solar trucks you are raving about. OOH even better, I want to see the wind powered ones.
Wind takes 30 years for ROI. It's no big deal. Let's just dump billions of dollars into wind mills. and wait 30 years to make money. I am sure there are plenty of billionaires around the world waiting for that opportunity.

Let's see, 30 years to pay off... why does that number sound so familiar?

Paying something off over 30 years isn't at all unusual. Big projects can be worthwhile. (I've seen a payback figure for nuclear plants of 40 years.)

Now, if your windmills won't last more than 30 years, you've got a problem.

Institutional and retail investors won't wait 30 years. You need a quicker payoff.

It has to turn cash flow positive within 3-5 years, 7 years tops.

So how did we ever fund nuke plants? Or natural gas plants, where I see payoff figures in the range of 10-15 years?

I think we must be talking past each other, because it sounds like you're saying nobody will fund projects of any sort that don't turn positive within 7 years, and I see them everywhere.

No, you can always securitize the future cash flows or secure private equity or other long-term sources of financing.

But nuclear plants were financed by private investors with backstops from public regulators.

30-year mortgage market, securitization market, and GSEs created a super-liquid real estate MBS market.

Your country is depriving you of the abilities to fashionably gather food.
I was just last month looking at another boat.
Big block jet, not the best way to go fishing.
Premium fuel only or they just don't perform and well the cheap stuff is $4.25 x gallon to the mile in a jetboat.
