Two New Large Cents -- Plus Solved a Large Part of My Photo Problem

    46 varieties for 1848 and 33 for 1853. Date position is helpful for eliminating most possibilities. Grellman's book is what I use.

    It took me a while to confirm the ID's of the large cents.
    I had to dig out my stereo dissecting microscope but I agree with your 1848 N-9 and 1853 N-16.
    I'm going to leave the microscope out because I intend to get other Braided Hair large cents.
    Thanks for the help.
    It would have taken me a LOT longer otherwise.

    Great photos!!! I once met a prosecutor named Kanga. This was in the depths of Detroit. My client was drunk (.26), ran a red light, and got into an accident. Guess who he hit? The Assistant Chief of Police. Anyways I introduced myself to the prosecutor, and she replied I’m Kanga, to which I quickly replied “Like-a-roo”, she’d said what? I replied, Oh nothing. I think this gal had come straight from the Blue Lagoon as everybody was excited that she was on her way. We’d never met before but it was a memorable morning.
