It's Christmas in Australia already, so ... Happy Christmas / Solstice to all CoinTalkers, and best wishes for 2022 ! Constantine would approve ... he was made augustus on Christmas day 307 AD (getting his tree delivered a few months early above), then made his son Constans caesar on Christmas day 333 AD.
Tomorrow is also the Feast of Sol Invictus (December 25th). Well, today in Australia. Celebrate with that rockin' dude Gordian III (Sol reverse).
Christmas came early, I got 6 AV coins in the mail today! Here is one acquired from Numismatica Genevensis
I usually avoid tooled coins but this Kushan coin is one of my favorites. I really like the three-fingered Santa Claus! I see this piece more as the equivalent of a hobo nickel than as a damaged ancient coin. Probably the worst coin my collection.
Wishing you all a wonderful Holiday Season and best wishes and coin wishes for 2022. Published by The Economist, Dec. 18th, "RETRACING JULIUS CAESAR’S PATH THROUGH FRANCE" https://www.economist.com/christmas...&utm_content=article-image-4&etear=nl_today_4
