Thanks. I feel lucky to have the 21-S, especially since I bought it ungraded, as I mentioned back in post #6696.

I feel it compares pretty well with the top pop RB specimen at NCG. The owner of that coin seems pleased to see some beard, and pleased that the wheat ear is only missing a few lines. The one above has great detail in the beard and both wheat ears are full and sharp.

With this coin, it makes a nice year set for 1921.

Bob - I have a couple of cents with this glossy sheen. I love it but it certainly doesn’t seem common. Do you know how they get to be this way??

 

None other than it looks like new Lincoln’s used to look when they were broken out of new rolls. I have a couple like this that still have a ton of new looking luster. After all these years maybe it’s the way they were stored. Most of the MS coins I see from the 30’s and 40’s are more satiny. I love this look.

 

Gold is "wild" isn't it?
