also, check the flea markets and other types of "buying" shops, like junk and antique shops as well..these are some very rare and noticeable coins..not ones you see every day (if ever) it is so sad you lost that amazing collection...

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to make that response.

Let me put it this way - if there are any more comments along the lines of those that had to be edited because of their political nature - the thread will closed.

And if you don't know what those comments were - so much the better. If you do know, then you know what NOT to talk about again.

Sorry to hear of your loss. Very disheartening. Some of those slabbed items are very unique and should eventually be recovered if they aren't destroyed. Those three are obviously very seasoned, very calm, and do this as a profession, so it will be a challenge to recover it.

As for pawn shops on the lookout for stolen items ... not so much.
I came across some of my nail guns in a Florida pawn shop one time and the owner got defensive saying they followed the law by listing the items on the required form and held them for 30 days before offering them for sale. It is up to us to check the list for our stolen items. (In my case I didn't realize my lead carpenter had pawned them!!)

On a helpful note, I was told one time after being burglarized to be careful, because from a security standpoint they may be back for what they missed or because most people will replace the stolen stuff with new.

The officers advised us to make it as difficult for criminals as possible.

-Out of the way doors with large glass windows make it easy for them.
-Use double-keyed deadbolts on the doors (not an easy to open thumb latch on the inside). But have a key hidden but close in case of a fire.
-Keyed locks on windows are helpful but the same rule for keeping a key nearby for fire safety still applies.
-That blaring siren is a great idea but needs to be inside and outside to even make people think there may be a fire. That is legal (not like a false report to get the police there faster).
-Dogs can offer protection but are not foolproof. A neighbor had his two german shephards get locked in a room while his house was robbed.
-I have a friend that uses a speaker and motion sensor to trigger a recording of a vicious sounding Doby/Rottweiler/Mastif type dog. (Chihuahua's don't have the same effect for some reason.)

Best of luck with the recovery and I'm sure you are doing more to be proactive. Hope my suggestions help you or others.

    Spanish people are Caucasian.
I see photos and serial numbers. Insurance? (Asked and answered.)
Do the 300 pounds of silver bars have serial numbers? I don't see how they
can sell any of this stuff which is documented with serial numbers.

Silver bars don't have serial numbers , only coins and paper money has serial numbers , a lot of my coins and paper money collection are bought long times ago so I don't have all coins photos , I don't have insurance . I will take my lost if can't recover this lifetime lesson.

Sorry this happened to you Kevin. Maybe a media blitz or Crime Stoppers. Someone might recognize one of them. Also doesn't silver bars require paper work to be filled out?

Kinda sucks in many places. I work in car insurance and many times I’ll have a break in claim where the customer calls the cops and the police basically say “tough, sorry, we’re not coming out. Good luck.”

@Kevin wu, Sorry for your loss. I've been in a similar position, and sympathize.

As for the 3 guys who entered your home, I've carefully watched the video twice, and do not think they are dark-skinned men.

My neighbor saw them saying they were black or dark colors and his son saw them too , my camera only show night vision so can't tell what color they are .

So sorry to hear this - I've contemplated insuring my collection; now it shall be done! Luckily everything of value is in my gun vault (lag bolted to the floor) + I have an alarm system. Just my CC Morgans price guide total is over $8K.

Just some advice on the periphery..
Don’t store any ammunition in there. Any sulphur powder remnants likely will gone your coins in a rather ugly way.

Not so sure about inside job. OP stated “ neighbor saw 3 dark skin color guys two wearing mask were heading to his (the neighbors) house driveway and saw them through the window ,and those guys also saw him so they turn off and went to my house”
The way I read this is the thieves went to neighbors house first, (makes me think they wanted the neighbors house) turned away when they were spotted then they chose the OP’s house. Just my read on this.

. . . So sad, major mad. Suggest you add prayer to your efforts. . . .

“Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that
never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession, was left unaided. Inspired by
this confidence I fly unto thee, O Virgin of
virgins, my Mother. To thee do I come, before
thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother
of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.”
