If going by the TrueView photo, then yes MS 68 seems acceptable. There is some streaking around the date which is a bit distracting. Otherwise I see no noticeable defects. What some might think are scratches in the upper left are almost certainly die polish lines (which suggest the coin could be semi-prooflike).

Hmm, maybe not, but then again, it doesn't look not 68 to me, either. That's a mighty clean and mark-free example.

I'd have said 65-66, at least. I'll leave those supergrades of 67 and above up to the TPGs to determine. If PCGS said 68 on that one, I reckon that's good enough for me, though I'd never be in the market for such a monster Morgan in any event, so it's a moot point to me.

The coin looks nice for "68". The streaks around the date could be a
problem in the future. The "toning dot" near the 4th star around 8:00
might also be a future issue. Concerning the "toning dot"

    I remember seeing a "68" 80-S and 81-S at a regional show (Chattanooga)
around '88 or '89. $11.5 K each. Those 2 dollars and the partial rolls of
09-S VDB and 31-S were the talk of the show.

Its impossible to critique those grades at that level from pictures. They dont get those grades for no reason. Theres nothing that says it shouldn't be, and it is a very attractive coin so yes it should be

I see a beautifully struck coin with very minimal contact marks in the fields or devices, and natural toning. I think it's every bit a MS68 and an exceptional example for the grade. You won't find a 67 this free of contact marks you might find some rainbow toned, hiding the contacts though in 67.

I like it and think it's solid for the grade it has. that said, I'd be happy with a MS67, probably some MS65-66 also and don't really want or need a MS68 or MS69.

I don't trust "True View" photos for grading. From I have seen, they are like the "glamor shots” they put in your high school yearbook. The poor girl who had a face full of acne scars looked like Marylin Monroe.

Me too. Eye appeal is my first and only criteria. I have a nice 81 S. I have no idea of the grade. But, the subject coin does have great eye appeal.

    It’s a strong 67 or a weak 68 in my book.
