I was able to download the app last night after I got that email from APMEX. But this was for a 2nd generation iPhone, not iTouch. I see nothing in the app that requires a mic. It's just a handful of pages and that's it. Very clean nice looking design. Seems profesionally designed. But if it needs a mic to install, that's a bad glitch on their programmer part as I see now functionality for it...

I haven't checked the App Store to see if this is a new release of what APMEX was already offering, but I have been running both APMEX and KITCO's apps on my iTouch for over a month without problems (as long as I have a wi-fi connection).

I wrote to Dave about this issue back in November when he first posted a thread about the new App. and asked him to alert the developers about this. Soon after the app wasn't available. I can only assume it was a beta test or something and they went back to work out bugs. So I was excited to see the App store now says it works on iTouch 2nd gen with iPhone 3.0 OS and later... I sent in a problem report via the App store so hopefully this issue will get sorted out.

Hey guys, I watched this video last night. It's a 4 part series.

I know we talked briefly about US Gov't putting tungsten in our gold that we were selling to China.

This video seems to be pretty updated since it talks about India and the possibilities that the 200 tons that they bought from the IMF could have tungsten in them too.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6amiuKfQZA

Also, they talk about how you can test gold without having to drill into the bars by using an oscilloscope....so there's no excuse for anyone not to test the gold at Fort Knox.

I don't know how an oscilloscope works but if the false metals are hidden within the bars and plated heavily in gold, would this not be detected unless you drill out a sample?

Yeah, they were basically explaining how it works.

So if you had a pure 400 oz gold bar. The gold is the best conductor of electricity right? Well whether it is or isn't, it has a specific reading like a fingerprint.

So when you hook it up to the oscilloscope, the current runs through the entire bar and now you have that baseline reading to be used against other bars.

With tungsten being in the middle, you now get a different reading because the current goes through a much smaller amount of gold. So it really doesn't matter if it's tungsten or any other metal inside, the lesser amount of gold in the current reading is a giveaway that it's not pure....

I HOPE I got it right. My friends an EE who plays with one at home all the time. So I'll send him a quick email to see if what I said above is correct.

My guess is that conductivity or someother electrically related property can be identified without invasive testing.

Thanks, that seems to make sense.

Well, I listened to part 1 of that piece, it's a bit rough audio, but it starts off rather negative and without any sense for why using terms like 'collusion' and 'criminals' so I took this with a grain of salt. The 'more info' column on the right side of that page was rather confusingly written as well. I've gone to their snowball web site and have seen some similar schemes like this posted on YouTube by some guy in Australia who has his own scheme of subscribers buying silver so that he receives pieces for free. I steer very clear of this stuff because it falls immediately into the 'too good to be true' category.

Oh yeah, I would never buy anything from anyone from youtube. There are also some vids that put up professional clips to start off the video and then cuts into what looks pretty amatuer.

There's this one guy that wants you to buy silver/gold from him because he's more secure than ordering from well establish companies, because those companies will provide your name to the gov't!

Meanwhile he's providing his thoughts from what looks like his dining room table and you can hear the TV and people and kids playing in the background. LOL....

Yes, but if listened to the entire clip, he says it will be at $1300 by the end of the year. His forecast for $1000 gold is over the next two months.

Then why'd you sell your gold for cash... Since you won't get to see gold at $1K/oz. you might as well send me your piles o' cash, I'll PM ya right quick... and please band the bills so I don't have to bank face it all for deposit. :mouth:

Right, I should have mentioned that. I don't know who he is but the guy from Bloomberg said he has been accurate about gold for a long time. $1300 sounds very reasonable.....

I am on the fence right now whether or not to pick up some AGE's. When gold went to around $1090 just about a week ago, it really made it tempting. I think I'll wait and gamble on this one, the year has just started and there has got to be a dip some point that will be favorable to all of us...

Do you have an particular events in mind that would cause gold to hit $1000? Anything that you are looking out for? Or just a hunch?
