In my area morgans go for about $20 each.
However today on christmas I purchased 50 morgans for $19.50 each. All the morgans are vf-20 and higher. All the 1921 morgans are in AU condition. The non 1921 conditions vary from xf-40 to vf-20
I was wondering do you guys think this was a good deal? from a bullion point of view and or a numismatic point of view?

    Thanks

Thing about Morgans is that many of them weren't circulated. So, finding ones in good condition shouldn't be that hard. AU50 would be like a minimum. If the coins are less than AU50, then $20 is a fairly standard price. I don't think you did poorly.....as silver only need get to $26.50 for you to realize your investment.

Sounds like you did ok to me. In the years to come you'll be glad I think. I also like the Morgans 'look' and they give me more satisfaction to own than just silver bars or rounds.

A nice thing about Morgan's is that they are the standard silver dollar size, and you can hold them in your hand and enjoy them in bullion condition. If you got a commemorative, or a ASE, you wouldn't be able to touch it without marring it.

Yes the price was about right.Morgans are always a good investment, because of their weight in silver.

    Howdy,

I picked up a couple out of a group of a dozen or so for $25 each that were AU. The coin shop had pulled some out for christmas presents. That's why I wanted them - to give to my grandsons. I buy them the mint and proof sets each year, plus the commemoratives and the ASE set in BU, but they can't play with those. With these AU morgans, they can hold it in their grubby little paws - like I did when my grandpa gave me morgans.

    peace,

    rono

The price was fair if the coins are not cleaned or damaged. If there are S mint or CC mint coins in there, the deal was very good.

Ahh I dont liek the silver eagles so much.
I like them morgans. the fact you can hold them in your hand helps.
I got another ten today for $12 each. All 1921 ciruclated but I am going to flip them for melt value. Hoping to buy another 1889 CC one that isnt cleaned this time lol.

That's a great price... about $1.50 or so under melt. You did good!
