@beaver96 got me thinking about this, but I didn't want to hijack his LCS thread...

I was born in 1958 (Year of the Dog). Since 1994, I got into the habit of gifting a two (2) Oz "Year of the Dog" silver bar to my friends and family who were also born in the Year of the Dog (regardless of age). I gave out 22 silver bars in 2018. Next stop...2030. This is the 2006 offering...

I was born 1959 which I always assumed to be the year of Frankie Avalon….. What are you fellers referring to here?

Lol...for anyone too young to know who Frankie Avalon is...

In the '60s, I wanted a Frankie Avalon hair cut so bad, but all our barber knew how to do was a crew cut. Every time I asked my Mom to let my hair grow out, she would say, "NO! That's how kids get head lice!". Early on, I thought that's how the Beatles got their name...from the bugs in their hair.

Now that’s funny. I heard the very same thing from my mom which didn’t make sense to me considering my sisters hair was halfway down her back! Those moms back in the sixties sure didn’t want us having Beatles hair. I think they would have resorted to anything.
