Someday, the value of the manganese content alone will dwarf your initial investment!

I'm a registered Democrat, have put my kid through college and have enough intellectual courage to see and understand what the folks who run the show are capable of doing to us, when they've finally got their mojo working. As some more intelligent person than you and I (in no particular order, understand) mentioned above, food and shelter will always be the No. 1 priorities, here as in the rest of the world. Whomever realizes the goal of controlling the means of acquiring these and a few other priority items will totally control how nice or nasty anyone's life will be. The idea of being able to go somewhere safe and be able to convert some of your BitCoin into some of the things you need to live makes what we're moving towards a smidge less terrifying.
It frees up mental and emotional space to pursue more vital and diverting concerns; say, filling up all the spaces in my trusty, green Whitman Wheat Pennies folder.

The part where I mentioned Nazi Germany was most certainly not "delusional", and the economic and financial tyranny was probably the least of the horrors they were able to inflict on their own citizens and eventually, many others.
I guess some people still don't understand what happened; or think it can't ever happen again.

It Can't Happen Here (1935) - Sinclair Lewis. Great book describing exactly what you are mentioning...,..

Maybe bullets will be the ultimate item with both intrinsic value and trading value? Let's hope not!

Bullets seem like a very "failed society" medium of exchange. Let's set our sights a little higher and put our shoulders to leaving our grandchildren something more useful. My suggestion would be something like more fertile soil when we're done than when we first started. Something that makes the world a safer place for coin collecting! When you examine the foregoing a little closer, fertile soil can be created almost anywhere from cheap, readily-available materials of less value, and is almost as durable an investment as precious metals, whose only function other than as a reservoir of imagined value might be if you needed something to use for a doorstop.
Maybe there's a real-world value in "soil banking", or "soil investing"?

Your statement "I heard" followed by the grandiose statement doesn't instill much credibility to the writer. The "Great Reset" you refer to may happen, but probably not as you describe. It will certainly involve the national debt which will cause a worldwide disruption to the financial markets. I'd like to see/read your sources for your post. I'm not referring to the Nazi reference.

I'm referring to the collapse of society when items needed to survive are in top demand. At that point, nobody will care about currency or gold, or expensive toys.

At the time bullets become viable items for commerce intrinsic value will be almost nonexistent or nonexistent.

Well brass/copper seem to have great value right now, so maybe a little brass and lead will buy a loaf of bread in trade.:D

Wow….. Did I just step into conspiracy theories anonymous? I just dipped in to see if anyone was talking about the huge dip in gold…. I tend to look at the charts once a week or so…. But y’all are certainly providing a much more scintillating read!
