    Not quite ancient but these were used as a tribal money in the Kerinci/Korintji region of Sumatra. They were formed by casting.

    Here's my hacksilver two shekels ingot from the Levant.

    25.0 grams.

    Here's an unusual type of money that was circulating on the islands of Java and Sumatra during the later part of the first millennium AD. There's pretty much no published discussion of these silver ingot fragments but they almost surely circulated in a way similar to the hacksilver seen in northern Europe around the same time or the earlier Levant hacksilver that was posted above. These are believed to have first circulated around the time the first coins began to be used in Java.

    I bought it because it's got a cool harpa on the reverse:
