Bought some for my son in 2013, (his birth year). Only other one I bought was the WWII park one that I gave to my uncle who was a Iwo Jima casualty, (lost his arm there). I guess it mean the world to him his nephew who is also a combat vet bought it for him. He passed away late last year.
I give coins as gifts too and I can imagine what it must have meant to your uncle. I've also had some family that fought in the south Pacific, thou they all came home intact.
While most of my pucks are graded by pcgs, I do have some from the other TPG's that I picked up at shows here and there.
Wow, collecting a set of pucks is quite a commitment. Not my thing but I'm impressed. I did manage to assemble a set of the little silver ones.
Agreed! I have all 56 of the specimen P-mintmarked coins, plus one extra because I could not find the first one I originally purchased from the Mint. Total cost is right around the $10,000 mark, give or take $500. I would like to obtain the "other" 56 brilliant uncirculated non-mintmarked coins, as well, but it just cannot be done at this income level.
