Howdy all, I'm looking to move some money (just a few thousand) from my eTrade IRA into a physical metal IRA. I've seen that APMEX has one but have not investigated any of them much at all - hence my question here. Has anyone done it and what key factors should I look for in a physical metal IRA account? GLD, IAU, a google search will find many just for gold. They have the same for silver, platinum, etc. They hold physical metal and trade as a ETF.
And they trade like a stock. You can hold it for as long as you like, or buy it in the morning and trade it in the afternoon.
I’m in on ticker GAU (gold mining) looking for a 50% gain by the end of the year. Still loving my REIT, though. 10% dividend and has been steadily moving back up. Was around $22 pre-covid, currently $13.xx. Ticker CIM
I would keep things simple, depending on the amount of your specific investment I would suggest ASE,S for under $5,000 and either AGE,S or APE,S for over $5,000 all will transfer nicely to an IRA eligible account avoid foreign gold as that would not be considered IRA friendly.
