No longer an active CT member. She left yesterday or today I believe, for a new position in the Philippines working in the stock market apparently, and further stated she was completely invested in PMs, done with them and only focused on the new assignment in stocks. She claimed she will not have a spec of time for CT in the future. Guess we'll never know unless she chimes in once settled in in her new life...

I still don't see this as a spike, just catching up to where it should have been all along. Some countries knew it too, and that's why they loaded up on it. I think $50-$60 in one day would be a spike, but not a spike that's gonna burst. I think I underbid on Ryan's contest.

I don't think there's any going back, just up! We will see $1500/oz in the very near future. I just couldn't for the life of me figure out why Yankee was selling, but then it's his money, so he can do with it as he pleases.

Dangit! Why did Elaine run off? I really liked her and enjoyed her chats. She will be missed! Just hope she comes back.

I will miss Elaine to. She was interesting. Good luck Elaine.

You know when I look at this recent rise in the price of gold, I can not help but think back to the time about 3 years ago when I moved a portion of my 401k into gold stock and a company I personally liked. One of these investment expects call to inform me of his opinion that I was making a big mistake by going into gold. It was not a huge amount but substantial. Glad I did not listen to this expert.

I agree with Sir Charlie above post above about gold catching up. Most markets have their own runs Stock market, housing market, real estate market ect. I do feel it will be a time go get out of the metal markets but when.... I do not have a clue.

The little bit of gold and gold stocks I have will not make or break me but it is kind of neat to have just a little tiny chunk of it.

Disclaimer..I have never claimed to know what I am talking about

Hey everyone, I'm new to the site. For a few months I've been marketing a program that offers an easy way to get lots of American Silver Eagles for way below spot, especially for those already privy to the present opportunity in precious metals. Check out my site at SilverRiches.net or give me a call at 909-576-2800.

Yep bama, I wish her the best, but hopefully she will miss everyone and be back soon!

I'm shooting from the hip here, but I think they recommend around 7% gold for a portfolio, but since most of us collect coins, perhaps some have a greater percentage. Mine is somewhere around 10%-11% I believe. I think gold will keep going higher, but when it gets around $1500, I do believe as it nears that number, I will have to take some profits. If all goes as I planned, 6 months after I sell it will go another $250 higher, HA!

Well I feel Gold and Silver are great investments at the moment. Even at the current inflated prices. Mainly because they are monetizing the debt. Inflation is coming..its but a matter of time...gold and silver will then hit record highs...I think super highs. I just wish I still owned all the 8 and 4 Escudos I sold on eBay...but then again I wish I had invested in Apple when Steve Jobs came back...almost did...I'd be filthy rich...but nagging wife talked me out of it...

Sure thing! I don't mean to post this much but I'm just stunned watching the regularity of moves upward! And it's fun to share in the moment.
