Very nice picture I'm sure those coins sold. Can't access eBay from this PC but decided to buy a few. APMEX has several different Libertad coins Logged onto the Mexican website but the links don't work on th English page. Could be Internet Explorer.

My thoughts are the mint will keep the ASE as is. Just like the Kennedy half, Roosevelt dime, and the 1 oz AGE. It is cheaper to carry on the same design year after year and not have to make dies with diferrent designs. Just the price changes and always goes up. It also shows stability in the particular coin. That is something our country really needs right now.

I disagree. Skipping one year should not be a determiner of whether or not a coin series continues. After all, they did skip a few years with the Peace Dollar series, with no changes to the design. I, frankly, would like to see the present design continued....

I agree with Illini420.. would love something like those Mexican fractionals. I actually am thinking about picking up one at the next coin show.

I think I'd have to get rolls of 1/10 ASE if the made them.

Okay, I'll drop it, but not before I sent 22 emails and snail mails letters to Senators, the Mint Director, and a few other influental people. They could still do it if they really wanted. Okay. I'm done.

I'm with you, Chuck. I've been collecting proof AGE and ASE from my daughter's birth year forward and was planning to do the same for my second daughter but her birth year is a big blank. It really sucks the lower part of the backside of my body. At least I have the bullion versions but the non-proof on my second's birth year was a blow to my plans, for sure.

That said, I am stoked about the 2010's. I am just hoping they don't screw around and just release them right out of the gate. The quicker I can get some new proof eagles in hand, the sooner the sting of '09 disappears.

I like this design, the Walking Liberty Design, is one of the most beautiful of all time... (I wouldn't mind them changing the reverse though, but even if they didn't it would still be a beautiful coin)
I think it would be weird if they just started making 2010's, without any 2009's... Maybe we've seen the last of the ASE's

I love the ASE coin design and think it should stay as is, but it will certainly come to an end some day, if not this year, but I have also written to my state senators airing my complaints and have my 2010 subscription set up for potential 2010 ASEs. I don't want to see a fractional ASE as this just seems redundant (and derivative to the problem at hand) and too late into this series to start that idea. If they wanted fractional silver ASE coins then they should have been producing them like the AGE fractionals have been available all along.

In order to prevent the total loss of this and other coin series, just because we lost the 2009 and few did too little and perhaps protested too late (like me), we should all continue writing in support of the 2010s and urging the Mint to produce the 2010 Proof coins and beyond, even if only in minimum mintages (and why not?). How can they claim that a limited proof mintage (perhaps 50,000 or less) could even begin to threaten the "bullion demand" when being compared to a figure like +24 million unc ounces? If this is the Mint's weak excuse for their way to go about changing the program to a new design or different coin, I don't buy it.

How will collectors recall 'The Moy era'... like so many coins series as Joe pointed out for us, one day Moy will quitely vacate his office when his tenure is up and he will simply be gone.

Funny . . . It slipped right by me.

While they are making changes, they could do a nose reduction on her. Some of the AGEs look like Jimmy Durante's sister posed for it. HA!

I would like to see the Mint come out with a really innovative new coinage design scheme much like the British have just done:

Although beautiful in many cases, American coin designs are a bit unimaginative and old fashioned.

when 2010w american eagle silver dollar unc and proof come out. it will be expensive. i think the price will be adjusted higher. last offered for proof is $31.95 and unc is $25.95. specially the proof version. where the dealers were selling at least $60.00 to $65.00 each for a common proof silver eagle.
