Hint, my morning haul is here. Just '64 nickels... https://www.cointalk.com/threads/what-did-coinjockey73-find-today.375864/page-7#post-7285667 16 total, this morning. How many more, did i find this afternoon? Guesses? Does anyone actually care???!!!
I have a few only because there nice and look BU.I throw most nickels from the 60's and above back into the wild except for S mm and proofs e.t.c those are fun to find.
I haven't started roll hunting yet. Those "can you find the..." pics i put up, i get the coins in bulk, in sealed storage containers. I then open and start my day...
Grand total, 51 That's out of about 2200.00 sorted and counted in about 3 hours. For every one i found, i probably missed two.
They were very heavily minted. When I was a kid in the late 60's early 70's I had a book of magic tricks. One of the tricks was to have someone take a nickel out of their pocket and you tell them the date. The book just said always pick 1964 because chances are that would be the date.
Not just nickels. Sorry, must not have stated that. Large bins of mixed coins comes in, needs to be sorted, counted, bagged, stuff like that. Like this. That all needs to get sorted and counted. I get 3 to 4 bins per half shift. There's a 1964 reverse, and a 1943 steel reverse in there too. Found both today. I find all my coins like this. My personal collection was found this way, entirely.
Good luck to you. I would be migrained within two hours. I must have missed how you have access to these coins.
It does get a bit hard on the eyes and head. I wear my readers the whole time, then when i take them off, I'm amazed at how small the coins actually are, lol. My boss is involved with vending machines. Repairs, collections, stuff like that. I got promoted to sorting and counting about 13 months ago.
1964 - 1,024,672,000 Minted 1964D - 1,78,297,160 Minted They're everywhere!!! I roll em up and move em out unless it's a proof!!!
Did a 60 second hunt today in one of those big bins i get. Strictly '64 nickels. 8 in 60 seconds. That's nuts!
