Another factor is the total absence of other proof bullion. First Spouse is a dead series so that leaves only the Buffs.
lol, when I say dead series, I mean even the folks who are collecting them are doing so in the hopes of some return as opposed to just collecting them for the coin's sake.
wait! You're telling me that people collect those coins!? :mouth::mouth::mouth: Amazing! lol if they put nuddy models on them I would buy them a lot faster than some ugly women who used to be married to the president. :thumb:
Hmmm... "ugly"? As subjective of a comment as that is, it's not so cool to say about someone you never saw, knew, or whom may have epitomized ideals of beauty of the era in which they lived. Albeit the FS coin designs may not suit you and perhaps their renderings are aesthetically unappealing to your sense of beauty in gold coin design as well as the female likeness, but let's not call these ladies 'ugly', esp. from an era in which no photographic documentation exists. All renderings of them which these coins were based on could only be renderings based on historical engravings, painted portraits and the like. Not sure if any death masks exists for them or not, but I think the design can only be so true in likeness and capturing the spirit of these figures as to the point of what they are based on. They are not my favorite coins and I am not buying them but they are not ugly in my opinion. :thumb:
FS series. i will divide it into two parts. one bullion related and the other collectible. those from martha washington to louisa adams as bullion related. and from jackson' liberty to current one as collectible. p.s. ugly or nobody like coins could become rare or high price. that's what i go for it.

Actually, last year the 2008 proof buffalos where priced at $1,199.00 when they went on sale. So the actual increase from last year is marginal compared to your $800 example. If you had the $1200 to buy last year and stop buying latte's at Starbucks for the rest of this year, you can have the increase paid for. So we'll see how they sell. To rich for me either way.
24 hours! gold is down again today.... 100% that this will be a 1,310$ coin. plus that 18$ rush shipping
if the stock market continue to correct and go down. gold might have to follow it. will gold break the $1,000.00 level?. then by next Wednesday. the price of 09 buffalo proof will be $1,260.00. and UHR will be $1,339.00.
now we are in the middle of another downward adjustment. will it go down below $1,000.00. if so. then the prices of mint products will look like this: UHR double eagle - $1,339.00 09 buffalo proof - $1,260.00 spouses gold proof - $654.00 spouses gold unc - $641.00 i hope it will. so i can buy more.
