Hell, I pray for this to happen.

It'd be a welcome return to the First Strike glory days we experienced at the UHR release. Crazy after-market premiums on eBay for simply being among the first 10,000 people to get one? Yes please.

    first strikes

the entire concept of "first strike" or "early release" appears to me rediculous.
this is a ploy by the slabbing services to further hype the market. is a "first strike" coin any more perfect than a Pr70 or Ms70 coin?

Agreed! It's (filthy) marketing tactics like this that hurt real coin values and make a simple hobby unnecessarily confusing to some or exclusive to others based upon what all these designations do to prices and even the collector mentality.

by the time the am buffalo one ounce proof come out. the price might be around $1,360.00. this is based on today's $1,062.90 oz. gold price.

the american eagle one ounce.proof platinum should be around $1,692.00. this is based on $1,366.00 an oz. platinum price. this look like too expensive.

the older issues look like am eagle proof is better than am buffalo proof by 35% except the 2008w buffalo. that is based on cdn bid.

what will be the price for 2009w am buffalo? if the mintage around 25,000 or below. then you might see the retail price ranging from $1,800.00 to $2,000.00. 2008w mintage at 19,591 worth $2,700 right now. but if the mintage is high. then the price of 2009w buffalo may as well near $1,350.00. which is the current price for 2006w and 2007w.

many of the fractional ameircan buffaloes already up 200% or more at e-bay. 2009 one ounce buffalo proof will be popular and hot. how low the mintage is the key. 11 days to go. let's prepare.

    Brand new member here! :)

Is there somewhere I can go to find current values like these, Elaine?

Do you have any figures for 2008 one ounce (NGC certified MS-70) without the mint mark?

the mint acquired a lot of blanks for bullion buffalo and maybe proof too. the 09 bullion mintage might break the previous buffalo bullion high. and the proof buffalo will certainly depend on the u.s.mint. how much the mint will set for the maximum mintage?. only 20,000 more or less can set the price very high. or else this is just another coin that the price is the same with that of 06w and 07w buffalo gold proof.

the u.s. mint announced today that it will accept order for american buffalo one ounce proof gold on Oct. 29, 2009. ordering start at 12:00 noon. no mention of maximum mintage. and no household limit. price is based on mint price chart. $1,360.00 each.

the mintage will be very high unless there is a cut off date involve. i might pass this one. or i use wait and see. or maybe buy any good stuffs by next year 2010.
