are we consider spouses 1/2 gold coin as a bullion coin?. if so, these bullion coins are traded near bullion prices and are potential to jump up in prices due to low mintages. what you think?.
the mint should consider making another bullion silver coin to compete with canadian maple leaf or mexican libertad. that is to issue american buffalo silver coin with face value at $5.00. diameter 45mm. .9999 fineness.
i really like the british britannia over others. but the price is so high. over 50% premium than the others. i might just get one piece.
I mentioned in the MSNS topic that at the last convention, dealer Phil Aftoor had a washtub of World Crowns at $10 each or 11 for $100. If you know your crowns, you can do all right as bullion. The numismatic items were good deals, as well. I did overpay egegriously for a Singapore $10 Commem that was only .500 fine, but it all averaged out and the coin was nice in its own right and when I got home, I was happy to see that it was a low-mintage issue. All in all, I have done this more than a few times at the larger shows, MSNS, ANA, CSNS, found a dealer with a bargain bin with nicer near-bullion items. I am not much for the usual stuff, the Eagles, Pandas, etc. They just lack historicity.
That's good to hear! I just received 4, 2009 1oz gold eagles in the mail last Friday. I guess when the time comes to sell I wont have much trouble! I should be able to get almost full spot price for them. Now if the 2 monster boxes of silver eagles I ordered ever get here I will be a happy man!!!!!
now that the premium is down. the bullion am eagle silver dollar is only $1.99 over silver spot for 500 pc minimum. the mint sell to authorize dealers at $1.25 premium over spot.
For gold bullion coins, I like to collect the 1/10 oz Chinese Pandas. I also like the Isle of Man fractional gold coins.
2009 australian lunar series II year of the tiger is a very nice and attractive silver bullion coin. the year of the rat too.
So I think this is my plan. I just started but I have a tube of 09 ASE's and a tube of 09 1oz silver philharmonics. I think I will buy a tube of perth tigers, maple leafs, libertads, and kookaburras. Then every year just keeping buying a new tube of the new year.
The Plat. is listed at $1,400 at PCGS. I guess with a listed price like that I should get at least $600.00
australian lunar series II. i like its sizes and diameter. 45.1mm. its design. artistic and beautiful.
SWEET! you sound like your about to make a gain of $600 profit think about it that way just like the government. when the government auctions off government property they mark all that money as profit with an original cost of zero there's no waste in government only profit! :hail:
