no just keep it where it is why change "bullion" and yea I know it's a coin too but the silver dollar is a thing of the past and simply raising it's "face value" is pointless since it would be impossible to actually mint enough of them for circulation without people stilll hoarding them...
I just am curious as to why you would want to "hopefully end the discussion"? Isn't that what a forum is for?
You may have missed the other thread about this that has been bumped back to the top repeatedly by the OP. It is a topic that everyone, except one maybe 2 people, is in agreement on. So the continual bumping of the old thread is kind of annoying. Here, read this thread from beginning to end: http://www.cointalk.com/t25202/
It seems sacrilegious for these beautiful, silver coins having the same denomination as the POS golden dollars. ...but, I suppose a silver dollar should be a "dollar". ...then again, these coins DO have much more silver than, say...a Morgan. Hmmm, what to do? ...how to vote? ...I could use more canned goods and bullits! :thumb:
No. We don't need any of these threads. And I'm ashamed of myself and my fellow numismatists for posting in them.
Looks like someone's stuffing the ballot box! This is NOT Afghanistan!!! I DEMAND a recount! :hammer:
I personally don't think they should raise the value of the ASE. It is what it is and it has been this way for over 20 years. Lets keep that the same, but mint an actual $10 or $20 coin that had some precious metal in it. Now thats an idea I would like to see come to fruition.
