    :D Thanks, buddy.

    While I got your attention...

    1. So no 2009 UNCs or Proofs have been minted...just bullion?
    2. When are they gonna stop selling the 2008 UNC? It's still available in the Dollar set and has been on sale since August 2008.
    3. Is it easy to tell the difference between the "bullion" ASE and the UNC ASE?

There have been three mints used to produce ASEs, as far as I know the earlier Proofs (for collectors) were minted in San Francisco, but later Proofs have been minted at West Point. Philadelphia being the other mint, for the uncs. (edit, also WP, see above.) In all reality, no matter the finish, they are ALL bullion but given the collector/numismatic interest and premiums for Proofs and other high quality polished die versions that have come out, they have the numismatic value.

Bullion whether AGE or ASE are distributed by authorized dealers through the mint. There is a US Mint page here and this was not too long ago a topic on CT here. There is a list of dealers on the Mint website as well that you can search by state.

As for why bullion has to be minted before the Burnished Uncs and Proofs, I have always assumed the to line in the legislation 'to meet the demand' was their excuse the Mint would always fall back on.

Please anyone correct this reply if not complete or if I stated things unclearly... Also, to the previous questions about mintage figures in this regard, I think our friend elaine is best suited to answer that :D so I will wait until she reads this and has a quick answer for us.

    #1. Correct.
#2. They have stopped selling the 08 in the seperate boxes. Thye are still selling them through the dollar set because they were probably already produced and will continue to sell them that way until they are sold out.
#3. Yes, very easy to tell the difference. The bullion does not have the W and the UNC does.

    Anytime buddy!

Ok so to shore this up.

    1. Bullion ASE's are not available through the mint.
    2. Burnished uncirculated have the W.
    3. Proofs have a W. now.

Wait a minute...your saying that proofs are also made in Philadelphia? ...and ALL proofs have the "W" mint mark?

...just when I thought I was getting a handle on all this. :rolling:

I think proofs used to be made in Philly if what am reading is correct.

From 1986 - 1992 - Proofs made at San Fransisco
    From 1993 - 1999 - Proofs made at Philly (Except 1995W) So there is a 1995P and 1995W.
From 2000 - Present - Proofs made at West Point

the mint might limit the 09w proof eagle at 300,000 max and 09w unc eagle at 200,000 max.

    How does that compare historically?

the proof will be the third lowest while the unc will be the lowest by far.

No, the MM did not move. THe seller is trying cheap tactics to try and sell his ASEs. The coin technically is minted at West Point but I don't know if this is what he is alluding to. He is trying to sell it as a 2009W ASE which have not come out yet. Maybe someone should point this out to him that the coin he is selling doesn't exist yet.

I have said this before and I will say it again......If it was available, I would have it. If I don't have it....they didn't make it. ;)
