Personally, I wouldn't buy platinum in bar form. It's a tough thing to sell. Your average person would buy gold or silver before platinum. In coin form you could have the same problem. If offered gold or platinum I would buy gold.

Here's my 1/4 ounce, first time I had ever bought platinum besides the two pendants I bought. Wish I would have bought more, like four of them! :D I won this one in auction on the bay. Oh, while I'm at it here's the 1/10th as well, all sellers pics.

I ordered a 1/10 oz Pt Eagle just to have one, but then thought it would team up well with a gold and silver.......so:

You can kinda see the density difference...

I have some. Don't buy most of the time because its hard to find usually. I am not interested in bars at all, just coins. I own maybe 8 ounces total in APE in different denominations. Wish I owned more, but have other collecting interests as well. Just bought two Irene gold coins including my avatar. That sucked up quite a bit.

I won my first 1/4 oz this weekend on an auction. I was at my local bullion shop yesterday and they had a 1/4 and 1/2 oz eagle and that was it. Its hard to find physical for sure right now and you'll play plenty on for them.

Great, hope you didn't pay too much! My guess is in a few months, once industry starts pumping out items made of platinum again, you'll pay even more! I'm hoping the price of platinum goes down so I can buy some more. Problem is platinum eagles are the most popular and therefore the most pricey!

Too much? That's a matter of opinion. I think that I paid a fair price for the currant spot and market conditions. Yes I would like to have got it at a lower price because the premiums are so high right now IMO.

Did you see JMB has 1oz Platinum Valcambi bars on sale this week.

$60 over spot if you pay by check. A bit more by other payment methods.

Great price but I wouldn't trust those bars to sell as easily as platinum eagles at time for resale. I've been eyeballing the Britannia's tho'! I gotta wait for the prices to go down a bit tho'. I feel comfortable with gold but I'm new to platinum and therefore I'm leery to buy more especially a whole ounce! :D btw, did you ever get around to buying with crypto?

Ah ok, just wanted to mention it since it's on sale.

Nope not yet. I don't have enough crypto to actually make buying something worth it. xD

Nice one Tater, which reminds me, a few days ago I bought a 1/10th! Paid through the nose but I had to satisfy the urge. Inaugural year and all, so that added to my justification on buying it as well! :D

From what I have seen the PF70 is not much more than the PF69 on most years. I think I paid $75 over spot maybe.
