Hello, I just bought my family's first detector, an Ace 250. My four year old and I spent 8pm-9m checking out our yard. Our house is 3 years old in a former farmer's cowfield in East Tennessee. We found: 4 bits of the four year old toys I've hit with the lawn mower. 3 bits of beer cans near the road 1 piece of what looks like barb wire 1 hinge and some wood, maybe from an old barn 1 1969-d cent 1 2006-p nickel next to our bird feeder- I'm sure I'm responsible for that Typical? We had the detector set on "coins". It was definately fun, but darkness (and his bedtime) ran us off. Lee
I only found 1 coin of many signals in my yard(bounty hunter). Also found a rock that sets off silver$? I think you did great. COngrats.
I find metal detecting very enjoyable. A while back I bought my first metal detector, it was a Whites Prizam II. I decided to take a photo of what I had found. This where I first hunted, my front yard. And this is what I found. After two days of searching my yard, this is my totals.
I have found several wheat cents, one silver quarter, several rings/jewerly and a load of common coins....and of course...some junk. (Tesoro):kewl:
I have a metal detector a garret 500 model and I will be taking it ouy shorthly. I live upstate NY a good place to hunt old barns old swimming pools ETC ETC. I see you found alot of stuff that;s cool keep searching. JC
I bought a Whites MXT and have taken it out only a few times Everytime I did, I found money in the ground and one old HotWheels car. I swear to use it and to get out more often, it is an expensive toy just sitting around.
I borrowed a friends detector over a year ago (for shame) and today was the first time I used it. I lost a silver chain the other day while loading brush and I thought I'd find it for sure. Nothing, in an hour of searching tall grass. I'll return it on Monday, I promise. I really should get my own. Bruce
