    What's up with the date here? Spacing between 19 14, and D too close? I tried to get different views. 1914 D Lincoln Cent 3.jpg 1914 Lincoln Cent 1.jpg 1914 D Lincoln cent 2.jpg 1914 D Lincoln cent 4.jpg

That appears to be an altered 1944-D.

Looks altered to me. Note the spacing between the 9 and 4, not centered.

Here’s one I have. The photo doesn’t do it justice. It has great toning, I just didn’t want to take it out of the 2x2 and couldn’t get a better picture.

The 19 on your coin is equally spaced from the 14, as in my 1914, and I could almost make a case that the 1 in your image should have been a 4. Its very faint. Does anyone else see it? I know its dark, but I can see a faint slant, where the first 4 would have been.

Do you mind if I take a photo of your coin from here and lighten it, and post it?

Look under Abe's shoulder for the VDB that shouldn't be there in 1914

There are what look like tooling marks on the shoulder where the VDB is on post-1917 cents. It's an altered 1944-D.
