How much was it going for on the secondary market?

    Got mine today.

    No book- backordered. Oh well.

The coin and presentation case are very nice. A quick glance at the coin through 4X magnification revealed no obvious imperfections, but a more detailed inspection will follow. Best of luck to you guys still waiting.

EDIT: Secondary market prices seem to be between $1,450 and $1,600.

I am not good at taking pics at all, but I tried. I inspected it pretty close with my loupe, and I have not seen a flaw anywhere. The people that got the coins with the scraped rims need to send them back. Up close, the face of my rims are smooth, and if you look even closer you can even see a light frost, but no scrapes. I tried to get closer but the pics just got fuzzier.
I hope everyone gets theirs soon! Good luck!

Damn, that is one snazzy coin.

Also, I just got word from the Mint, mine is on the way! W00t!

When I get mine in I will take some wicked hi-res pics with my macro lens.

A closer inspection of mine revealed no ticks, marks or dings. I checked the rims too and saw no chatter marks. I'd rate this coin on a par with pretty much everything I've ever purchased from the Mint. I will say that the coin fits a little loosely in its capsule. It rattles around a little if you shake it.

Kinda peaved! Ordered mine on the first day within the first two hours and have not received any notice of any kind. I can't check the status of my order or even confirm whether or not the order has been placed. I had the original confirmation letter sent from the mint in my email, but when I changed email accounts and closed the old account, whatever messages I had in there were lost.... including this one. I haven't called yet, but don't want to be to anxious. Anyone else order theirs on the first day and not receive it yet?

Hi, Joe. I can understand your impatience. Hey, we know the US Mint can be like that any time they want. I don't believe they care too much about the one customer and how to please him. They are just into selling the most coin they can. They are also the best at what they do. And the largest. You'll get yours soon enough and love it. I sold 2 spouse gold 1/2 oz coins with the intention of getting a HR double eagle. Unfortunately the economic times made me rethink my priorities and the money from the spouses just went...for large bills.

    Hang in there, bud.

I know it was mentioned earlier in this thread, but I checked the Mint's site and they are indeed giving a shippment date of 5/24 for now. That has to be for orders placed after the first few days of availability I'd think.

EDIT: The price has gone up to $1,339.

I ordered mine during the first half hour of the offering Joe. In fact the transaction was completed by 12:35PM. I have just received an e-mail from the mint that my order has been shipped. I am stoked......:smile

I agree with BigsWick. The UHR is very loose in the capsule. That my be why some of them have the scars around the rim, because of it rattling around in the capsule. Those people that have medded up rims should send those back. My friend at my office ordered right after me, and he got his email that his shipped yesterday Next Day Air UPS. His order number is 1958 order numbers after mine. Mine was 30826XXX, and his was 30828XXX. That tells me they are still coming in order sequence, but are slow. It took them 3 days to process almost 2000 orders, but our email notifications were 2 days apart. If you are a 3082XXX and still haven't received your email notification, then I would begin to wonder wassup. My best guess is 3083XXXX are getting their notices now, give or take a day or so.
I hope this info helps somebody. Good luck to ALL!

Congrats green! Hope you are a better photographer than me! I took about 20, and even on macro I couldn't get a really good close-up.

I have heard a few folks complaining about pitting on the coin above the eagle, this is not good, now instead of the good anticapation of getting mine (if ever) now I am anxious about getting a crappy one,,,,,, great

    order# 308389xx,,, still nothing

and now I hear the coin is loose in the capsule, so my coin has been banging around for a couple weeks. I always wanted a $1200 paper weight.

The most beautiful coin ever, minus the pitting and rim scuffs. If I get one with the belly button showing that might make up for some pitting.

Mine was loose in the presentation box but no damage. She does rattle around in the holder a bit but under a 7x loupe she's flawless. These pics don't do her justice but I'm working with a draconian Agfa with photowise. Think I gotta upgrade. That, and more practice. Oh, by the way, the wife is recovering well after the initial shock of the sticker price. I told her these ladies are goin' for $1879 on e-bay. That calmed 'er down a bit......

Green...Pics are really good. I still can't get over the box! The wood and the work making the box must be well over $100! When I opened it up and looked at the box I about fell over. It looks like it has about 20 coats of lacquer on it, then the gold writing. From all of the pics I've seen, none really do justice to the coin or the box.

Sittinguy.... If everything holds true to what I've seen lately, with them getting out about 650 per day, I'd bet you will have an email any day now being in the 3083s.

    Good Luck!
