I love the panda series. I have about 1/2, or maybe slightly more of the whole series. I dont get them for the bullion, although it doesnt hurt :) i just love the designs!

what does it matter if they are from china? they are official, and the quality is good. Isnt that all that matters? or is the feeling more political?

I'm not a fan of China. Its a repressive and dangerous political regime.

The design of the panda coins is excellent. But I am against them, I would rather support America

I agree... if American starts minting panda coins.. i will certainly buy them instead. But barring any coins that match the China panda's... i dont see buying them as not supporting America :)

If china makes 2 US$ off every one they sell and the US the same. China is up 2$ and the US is out 2$. The same is for the Canadian , Australian and any other countries precious metals.

Its not so much that I only want to buy American, but that I have real problems with China. I buy these anyway, but frankly it concerns me that money I spend on these coins support the Chinese political repression directly.

May despise China, but they are what keeps the American government in business right now, buying up all the US Treasuries, to the tune of $700 Billion dollars. And you wonder why the US government doesn't make a big deal of the repression there in China? There you have it folks, the Chinese own the Federal Government, kind of like a major stockholder.

You have to consider the possibility that exchanging $22 USD for one ounce of Chinese silver might be a better deal for the US than for China.
