Nice design...the problem is the baby crap yellow that gold looks like.;) No coin--regardless of design can overcome that.

Maybe he'll let you take that hideous thing off his hands for 2 or 3 times face value.

Sadly that hideous little thing won’t be up for sale anytime soon... it’s going to remain in a safe place :)

Got two US coins in the mail today. First, this 3c nickel. Nothing to write home about, but it's a nice, wholesome piece:

But the real excitement came from the second coin. I bought this Peace on ebay without looking too closely at it since it was priced at an absolute steal. It didn't take me long to realize it was special once I opened the package today.

It's a VAM-2C1, a top 50 Peace VAM. Seems to be pretty late state, you can see the beginnings of the crack that makes the VAM-2C2.

picked her up a few years ago for $25 when silver was low and she was being sold as spot + $5. Guy said he had way too many silver dollars to go thru so I jumped on this and ran. Not really sure what she would grade or value at.

I am not a collector of bills.... but I do pull fun ones. I found this radar note in the cash I got today for a keeper.

    My old one:

I've missed having a Pilgrim half since I parted with the coin above. I am supposedly descended from William Bradford (the Pilgrim governor shown on the obverse) through my maternal line. So it's kind of a "must have" type for my collection. (I like "ship" coins, too, so bonus points for the reverse design as well.)

One of my Romans recently sold, so with the proceeds of that sale (plus six more dollars), I just acquired this 1920 NGC MS65 in an old "no-line fattie" holder. It is a small upgrade from the previous one and I reckon that's my "Christmas present to myself".
