Hey I mean I’m sure anyone who knows they’re silver would keep them. One could argue the same thing about gold coins. The reason Double Eagles aren’t circulating around like $20 bills is because people overfished them out.
Good haul. A few months ago, at my last day at my job, a customer paid in $150 melt of silver halves. Naturally i swapped them out in cash! Good times $14 for $150 is a decent ROI
Thanks! Keep in mind it took many failed attempts to get anything. Lol! However one thing I love about coin roll hunting is that it never really costs anything. You go into a bank with $300 in cash and ask for 150x $0.50 half dollars..but you still have $300 in cash. You can take it right back to the bank and get your $300 in bills if you want. Preferably at different banks if you do it a lot though. You don’t want to annoy one bank if you’re constantly buying & returning coin rolls. They’ll think it’s wasting their time and time is money.
Very nice!! I find better luck with bank rolls than pocket change. I’d love to score a really nice coin or note but I don’t want to get too greedy. Metal detecting is also a lot of fun! One of my work colleagues took me out to do it and provided me with his spare one and that day he found a Seated Liberty Half Dollar!! Yeah it was really dirty and roughed up. The date was illegible and it would’ve probably been graded “Poor-1”.. But it’s still a cool find! Definitely worth the effort of digging it up & it was a few hours of fun detecting.
