I won bids with three auction houses, Roma on Thanksgiving, Papillion on sunday and Savoca on Sunday. All were paid right after auction. Who got the shipment to me the quickest??? Savoca DE , i got my coins today. Papillion said the were shipping today and Roma i do not know but they charged the most for shipping. Nice job Savoca.
I’ve had the same experience with them. Their shipping is shockingly fast. I got this Victoriatus I won in 2 days from the end of the auction. It arrived so quickly I thought it was a catalog or a newsletter at first.
I made the same experience. Savoca ships extremely fast and at a reasonable price, they are pleasant to deal with, and there are usually bargains to be had at their "Blue Auctions." Here is a favorite from February 2019: . Roman Republic, moneyer: M. Atilius Serranus, AE quadrans, 148 BC, Rome mint. Obv: Head of Hercules r.; behind, three pellets. Rev: Prow r., above, M . ATILI (die break); below, [ROMA]. 17mm, 4.16g. Ref: RRC 214/5a. Ex Savoca, Blue Auction 16, lot 913.
I would not say bargains, because their misattributed coins are heavily hunted lately. They are indeed very fast shipping (they sent by FedEx immediately after I paid, and the invoice is also issued fast) and they always responded to my emails. A good experience overall. The only minus is the 15 Eur shipping for the low end coins they sell on ebay, but nobody can be perfect.
My experience with Savoca has been similarly impressive. At the other end of the spectrum we have Agora.
I am still waiting to receive a coin form 2018 and one from 2019 or a refund from him. Numerous communications have brought nothing but empty promises. My account still has final coin paid, but never shipped.
I keep telling my wife that she is my favorite wife. I don't know why, but she doesn't find that funny. Sorry about hijacking the thread @BenSi. Just another of my many flaws.
I'm sure your wives all try to improve you by correcting your minor flaws gently and from a place of love. Not that I ascribe to the "men are like children" belief that some women seem to have.
I see there was a thread here a few years ago in which a representative of Agora actually posted responses to a complaint about delayed shipping: https://www.cointalk.com/threads/problem-with-agora-auctions.291375/
i dealt with Savoca twice, each time got some really nice coins at bargain prices. I won 2 amazing Kolchis AV Staters/ plus a couple of FDC Hohenstaufen AV Taris (Messina) The Konrad AV 4 Tari lists for 10K in VF/ Rare/EF. Won my FDC one for 1000 euro bid
Savoca indeed ships super fast, it gets to my house in the middle of North America from Germany in two days tops. Julian and his impressive neckbeard arrived today, along with a few other goodies I will post about over time.
I actually email them and ask them to ship the ebay purchases with my auction wins. In fact, I sometimes even get two auction wins shipped at the same time since their auctions runs so frequently these days. They are really nice and accommodating. Yeah...Agora...I gave up on them even though they never shipped one of my coins...
