Leu Numismatik Invoice Process?

I picked up a couple of coins in the Leu Numismatik auction over the past weekend... my first Parthian and my first Roman Provincial (Thracian with an awesome temple reverse).

Any idea on how their invoice process works? I haven't seen an invoice come through yet and wondering if I need to contact them.

Looking forward to posting them once they arrive.

I had some successful bids in their June 2019 auction, and they e-mailed me an invoice (as a pdf-file) within three business days. I paid them via TransferWise, and they shipped the coins immediately afterwards.

If I were you, I'd wait and expect to get an invoice somewhen in the next days.

I received my invoice a few hours ago. If you don’t get yours in a day or two, I’d drop them an email.

Great score, btw. It’s a lovely coin. I picked up a Thracian Provincial too. :)

After your win, do you recall how long it took to see it on the Leu site under ‘My Purchases’? I won yesterday, shows as a win on Biddr, but on the Leu site I don’t see the coin in that tab. I see it in the ‘My Bids’ section but it doesn’t show that I won (or lost) even though it’s the bid I won with on biddr. Feel kinda nervous that something is going wrong.

If it is in green on the "My Bids" page, you won; if it's red, you lost. You have to give them a couple of business days at least before you start to worry.

Perfect! I see it in green on Biddr so I’ll stay optimistic. It’s my first time using both Biddr and buying through Leu so always a nerve wracking process being a first time buyer. Thank you!

Bumping this topic in case anyone else had similar issues.

I entered a bid for one lot at 360, and watched it hammer for 320 in real time. I checked today as I didn't get an invoice, and now I still see my "current bids" at 320, but the lot in question is now showing that it hammered for 380? Did that happen for anyone else? Perhaps a bug, or else a hidden reserve?

Yes, I was surprised that I was winning 4 lots and bidding was ended according to my Leu account, then I lost three of those lots.

Were you just checking the prices on Leu or did you follow live on Biddr and still have it glitch out? The Leu website only showed the final prebids before live, Biddr had the actual hammers after the live bidding (which was an absolute slaughter) and the Leu site has the updated hammers now.

I only looked on the Leu website, which said the auctions were closed.

Ahhhhh! I missed the memo that live bidding was on Biddr - that explains everything. Bummer :(

Ah yep, ran into that issue with Nomos back in July so now I know better. The website only has the prebids at closing, and then the live segment you have to get approved for Biddr. Quite annoying but I guess that's how it is.

The way I’ve figured it out to ensure I don’t get burned missing a live auction:

If every lot closes at the exact same time, there has to be a live auction afterwards. If closing times are staggered, then bidding ends at the noted time.

I love getting the Leu auction catalogs. Hard cover, excellent production value, great information bound in a nice yellow jacket.

Does Leu have to file export papers like Numismatik Naumann that would delay shipment? It’s been 12 days since I paid and no shipping yet. Is this normal?

I don't believe so. Leu do take a little longer to process if you're used to CNG, who are really the exception with their quick turnaround, rather than the rule. They normally take at least a week and sometimes more to ship after payment, that's been my experience anyways. Nothing to worry about yet, I paid within a couple days of invoice (11 days ago now) and expect to get a shipping confirmation by this coming Friday. If you don't hear anything this week then I'd contact them, but so far nothing to worry about.
