I came across this 1991 D dime that looks to me like a copper planchet, if you what you think I would be very grateful, thanks a lot.
Your dime was not struck on a cent planchette. From your pics I see reeding on opposing sides of the coins rim. If a cent planchette somehow made it to the striking chamber for dimes it would not fit into a dimes collar which is the devise that gives reeded edge coins there reeded. Most likely your coin has suffered environmental damage.
@Breadwinner1983 Is there something you are trying to share with us? Don't quote anyone just state what it is and hit Post.
It's called Environmental Damage. Long time exposure to the elements will tone tje Cupro-Nickel clad layer a darker color. It os not a Dime struck on Cent Planchet. It is not a mint error. Here are examples from my metal detecting finds
I did. That's the way they end up. The dark toning does not revert back to the normal clad coloring. They are not dirty but darkened.
@Kristen Kirsch Your Dime is also environmental damage. Just like the examples I have shown. It is not a mint error.
Yeah sure, 1990, has on penny, they always say that here, then I'll see something like this that others have the same,
