LordM Giveaway #43 (pick your prize)

Random drawing to be announced in early October, 2020.

This giveaway has now CLOSED. Winner announced in Post #120.

This giveaway is brought to you by Lucy the Dog, who would also love to play ball when you get tired of coins. You'd better bring a sturdy ball, though. She popped that yoga exercise ball within two minutes! Oh well. At least we got a cute picture out of it.

Hi, and welcome to the latest giveaway. If you don't feel like reading this whole intro, at least read the bold text for the basics.

Winner will receive a $25 credit from my swapstock inventory. (*That's a slow-loading link, so give it a few seconds.) Free worldwide shipping is included- there are no strings attached and no purchase is necessary. Coins are, however, subject to prior sale before the drawing ends, so keep an eye on the list, which will evolve as I add new stuff and take away sold stuff.

    To enter:

    1. Put the words "entry post" at the top of your first (and only your first) post to this thread. You may make as many conversational posts as you like, but only one entry post per member.

Exception: if you are a member over at Collectors Universe, you may also enter on the tandem giveaway thread over there, in addition to your entry here. All of the entries from Collectors Universe will be tallied here, thereby giving you two chances in the drawing, if you post on both sites. (Do please let me know who you are if you have a different username over there, just so I'll know.)

    2. Add something else that is coin-related to your entry post. It can be anything you want. You do not need to include a photo, nor do you need to know anything about coins. Your post just has to be coin-related somehow. Tokens, medals, paper money, etc. are also fine.

Click the picture below and allow the linked page several seconds to load.

Note: If you do not see anything that appeals to you, or would prefer me to ship the giveaway item to someone else, I am happy to do so.

I wouldn't even be offended if you chose to sell your prize(s) later- once they're yours, they're yours, to do with as you please. But if you're only wanting to cash out, I would prefer to send you a $20 PayPal gift rather than going through the effort of shipping a coin you'd only be selling anyway.

At my discretion, a $25 PayPal gift alternative applies to folks overseas, if I discover their selection(s) would be too expensive for me to ship from the USA.

this is a 50 Kč coin. Prague has a special meaning for me, because it was the city we chose for our honeymoon.
Still today, we visit Prague frequently, enjoy the city and bring back good memories and coins.

Note: I am in the process of consolidating my CollectiveCoin pages. The former "Pick Bin & Giveaway Goodies" page is going away, and the links above are now directing to my master swaplist page, which has the default title of "For Sale" on that site.

This means you will see some coins which are more expensive than the $25 prize voucher offered in this giveaway (though mostly still in the two-figure pricerange). If you would like to use your credit towards a more expensive coin, I am fine with that, as long as you attest and affirm that I have complied with forum rules, which state:
    and:
Just so we're clear, if you wanted to "upgrade" by using your credit as a discount on something more expensive: your prize here is the $25 credit plus free shipping- free and clear, no strings.

The free shipping part of your prize still applies if you do opt to upgrade to something more expensive. Hypothetically, you'd only owe me any balance beyond the $25 prize voucher you won. Your "upgrade fee", in other words. That would be a entirely separate transaction from the giveaway.

For the more cynical among you who might suggest I am self-promoting by directing people to a page off-site where I have coins for sale, I will defer to the judgment of the site admins on that if anyone complains. In defense at that hypothetical scenario, I will mention that any modest profits I make from the sales of coins on that page all get rolled back into material for these giveaways anyway, and to help defray some of the costs. And no, that was not a solicitation for donations, so don't offer me any!

But by all means, do put up your own giveaways if you're so inclined. I can help with the logistics of that if you want me to.

I do these giveaways simply because they're fun for me and (hopefully) everyone else involved.

Oh- one more thing- in the past, it was "one prize of up to $25 value", but now there is no limit on the number of prizes. If you wanted to use your $25 prize credit to get two or three less expensive coins, for example, that would be perfectly fine. I will try to continue offering a selection of inexpensive but appealing coins in the <$25 range.

Y'all read Rule 2 above, if you want to be eligible. (There are only two rules.) ;)

Since those two entry posts are disqualified, you may try again.

    Edit- @Inspector43 is good now.

Here is a newly acquired coin. Interestingly it was minted only in 1925 and for the sole purpose of gathering funds for a new Confederate Memorial. I'm pretty sure the US Government won't be passing any more laws to memorialize the Confederacy.

I recently got an 1864 two cent piece in about G-4 condition, and I just learned that it was the first coin to feature the motto, "In God We Trust." Thought that was interesting.

Reminds me of the 3 legged pig story...
One day a man drove by a farm and saw a three-legged pig. The man went up to the farmer and said, "Excuse me, but why does that pig only have 3 legs?"
"Well," said the farmer, "that pig is very special. One time my wife was cooking something she stepped out of the kitchen and it caught on fire. No one in the house knew about it but the pig, and he saved me, my wife, and my 2 kids."
"That's amazing!" said the man, but why does the pig only have three legs?"
"Well, there was that time the pig saw a big storm coming and we didn't. The pig ran into the house and dragged us out to the storm cellar. If it weren't for that pig we would all be dead."
"But still, that doesn't explain why the pig only has 3 legs."
"And I remember the time my youngest son was stuck up a tree, but I was too far away to hear his cries for help. The pig ran to me and led me to where he was."
"Well, that is a miracle, but how come that pig only has 3 legs?" the man said quite annoyed at this point.
"Well," said the farmer, "you can't just eat a pig like that all at once."
