Going through the days takings from our shop and preparing the floats for the cash registers, I found this beat up 1 pound coin among the 1 Euro coins. As I had never seen one before I looked it up on Numista. https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces23601.html It was only struck in 1989 as a circulating commemorative. There are no mintage figures for it that I can find. Apart from the scant information on their website and on Wiki, informing that The Pobjoy Mint is the largest independent mint in Europe specialising mainly in Gold and Silver commemoratives, I cannot find out much more about them. If any of you have more info or can point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated
Interesting coin. I looked all over but can't find a mintage for the circulation coin either. https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces23601.html This one has the mintage figures of silver, gold, and platinum, but not the nickel-brass alloy https://currencies.fandom.com/wiki/Gibraltar_1_pound_coin
Thanks. I had read their website but in most aspects it is advertising of their achievements, I was hoping to find info on their circulating currency but it seems they prefer to promote their "specials". The search goes on
