I wish there was a love button. Trade dollar patterns are on my want list once I get back to collecting more serious once the world settles down and my life gets more on track

A recent arrival. I ordered this a few days before the prices went crazy.

Here are two recent acquisitions! The 1829 Capped Bust dime has a really cool circulated cameo effect. It is also holed. (I am thinking someone either tried to turn it into jewelry or they used it for target practice - it looks like there is an "X" etched into center of the obverse, and it is little bent.) The 1868 two-cent piece is well-loved (G-04 is my best estimate) but still interesting. Overall, nothing super valuable or high grade, but these are my first 19th-century coins.

Here are some of my US newps from the past few months, not counting stuff I bought for the giveaways and/or swapstock to flip.

Thanks. Modest grade, but neat grey CircCam toning. Which comes as no surprise, since I bought it from @CircCam. It's too dark for some folks. Not for me.

I posted a thread and poll about it here.

I just got this MS66 to upgrade the 1982 P nickel in my Dansco. I paid $22, which is right at the price guide. Just 10 years ago, the price guide was $65 for this year and grade. Now that it has dropped, it wouldn't even recoup the cost of grading. So I broke it free to put it in the book.

Speaking of nice affordable Jeffies, that 1965 SMS I posted above cost me 15 bucks. It's PCGS SP67. Priceguide is presently $24 on it. The toning and the TrueView and the fact that it's from my birthyear made me snap it up... quickly.

Today's mail brought another coin for the type set. I have two slabbed Liberty nickels. One is a proof and the other is an MS64 with a CAC. I couldn't bring myself to break open either of those, so I scoured the web for a raw, but nice, V-nickel.

So I finally got out my original 89s that I hated. This coin looks really good to the naked eye and under normal room lights. You put any mag on or her at all or some nice lights.... and ugh.

not too bad looking, with very close to PL reflections:

    Ok.... something is definitely wrong:

Turn the light a little and all of a sudden it looks like she was ran over by a car. I have no idea what would cause this damage, especially in her hair:

She was on my “must replace” list for a long time

MS66 BN. N-10 variety R.3. Lone finest known BN coin. Only one RB coin in existence... and it's slightly less Red than this one in my opinion.

This may be frustrating. I bought this for the new Type Set I am building, but it is too nice to break out for an album. NGC MS65 RB in an old holder.

The seller reports that this is most likely from the Randall Hoard, found buried underneath a railway platform in 1868. (The article says 1878, but that is certainly a typo, because they cite a reference to the find dated 1869.)

No, just buying a few top pieces here and there while copper is cooled off.
