I am a relative newcomer here on CT. I kind of kick myself for now being active on this site sooner. There was an awareness but I just didn't feel the need to interact here. I had actually created an account about a year before I re-found the site. Now, I have been active for 2+ years. Now CT is a daily obsession that causes more lost "work" than March Madness. I am by nature not a very chatty person so I was surprised when I noticed that the message counter was approaching 1000. I truly appreciate the existence of this site and all of the joy it brings myself and others. Most of my time is spent in world coins tab but I do dabble on the ancients side. Of course, I enjoy watching the fireworks when a newbie posts a rarity over on errors. Hopefully, everyone is staying safe and healthy. To keep it coin related, here are a few of my favorite recent acquisitions.
Only 2 years? I find myself surprised. Seems like you've always been here. The "turning water into wine" motif on that apparently 17th century piece is really neat. Tell us more about it. (The zeppelin medal is cool, too, of course.)
Actually, I started a thread on it a week or so ago. https://www.cointalk.com/threads/doppelter-hochzeitstaler-–-double-wedding-thaler.362713/
Congratulations I too enjoy the rowdy crew and I am also relatively new to the game. I have my favorite in American coins and its history. I check out the ancients and foreign coins just to see what is popular and exciting to those who delve in the area. thanks for the pleasant post stay healthy, happy, and most of all safe.
@Chris B, 2 excellent specimens, & they were a bargain!: 1) You didn't have them, 2) You wanted them, 3) You could afford them!.... Both are fabulous! Nice post from 7/2 also! Thanks for posting! Hey, if you run into Greg (Premier1Driver), tell him I said Hi!
